The plot was funny and very entertaining...I could not put it down. However one thing that always erks me is how all the women of London society always lose there head and can't seem to keep there virginity in tact after being kissed or touch by a man lol.....is there one book where the women of that period does not go all stary eye after a mere kiss.Or maintain her virginity without the man being the one to have the sense or is gentleman enough to stop before her reputation is destroy... the regency period is a good break from the paranormal which I have been stuck in lol....
I enjoy this book immensely could not put it down I must say Anne Bishop writes a good book.I like the main Characters and seeing how they gradually change as the book progress.
Meg Corbyn is a Cassandra sangue (Blood Prophet) and has run away from her keepers. And when I say `keepers,' I mean that literally. After all, Meg isn't even known by a name, she has a designation -a number - she is known as CS759 . She has never experienced anything ever that may stimulate her. All that she knows of the world was taught to her via pictures and edited film clips while sitting in a classroom filled with others like her. She is there for one specific purpose, to be a Prophet. One that needs to be cut/sliced in a very specific way to make her predictions. Since her keeper/Controller can receive huge amounts of money for her predictions, she is being hunted extensively now that she has run away. She has run right into Lakeside, a sort of town that caters to the Others but also in a small way to the Humans.
The Others - the terra indigene are shape shifters, vampires and Elementals that do not like, do not trust, do not need the humans. In this world, the Others rule and by that I mean that if the humans do something in this territory that the Others don't like - the human becomes a meal. After all Human Laws Do Not Apply here. Can hardly wait for the next installment
All I can say is YES lol .Kim Harrison puts out another non stop action plot with occasional catch your breath pauses. The moment I 've been waiting for Trent and Racheal recognizing there attraction...sparks are igniting in this book, Can't wait for the next book..a whole year away :(
While I did enjoy Betrayed more than I initially thought I would, it could do with a bit of housecleaning to rid itself of too much coincidence and too little realistic interaction among the teens. I also think that much of the "vampyre" rituals seem to be more "witch-like" than they should be. But in general I did enjoy the story and I still like the whole idea of The House of Night and creepy undead creatures and people who aren't what they seem to be. I'd love to give this one 3.5 stars for general entertainment.
I just love reading this book or should I say listen :) (Audiobook). Could not put it down it had a little of everything..that at times it brought tears to my eye. This is a must read.
Bishop has created a masterpiece with the entire series and Twilight's Dawn is no exception. The short stories advance quickly yet smoothly through time. If she decides to finish this series, she did it on a great note.Things that I've been wondering about were answered.
I have read all the books in this series and this is by far the best. This is book number 8 called Shalador's Lady. It is tightly packed with the missing action from the previous book, because now is the time for our characters to dig in and fight for who they want to rule Dena Nehele. That's right... another Queen from Kaeleer stirs things up. There are three divisions in this book: Cassidy and her Court, Kermilla and those who want her, and the sideline observers--the SaDiablo family and some important rulers of Kaeleer. The reader builds a deeper understanding of the ruling system of the Blood and which lines are not to be crossed. How involved should outside help be in the influencing a Territory, especially when that Territory is straining under a tug-of-war for leadership? How to fight for land and people without decimating what's left with war? There are hard decisions to be made, in order to accomplish the original premise of The Shadow Queen--restoring faith and the Old Ways of the Blood to weary and wary survivors of Dena Nehele. Fascinating, how this plays out.
This book was a lot better I finish it in record time.I can hardly wait for the next book. The Rogue, the second book in Trudi Canavan's Traitor Spy Trilogy, picks up right where The Ambassador's Mission left off.Since anyone thinking about reading The Rogue has surely read the preceding book, I'm not going to delve into the plot much. Suffice to say, all the old cast of characters are back and Canavan introduces one new face, Lilia - a budding magician trying to fit in.The book ends with two cliff hangers and The only bad thing I can say about this book is that now I have to wait eight months for the next one to come out!!!!
Samantha Willan is a workaholic lawyer. She's grateful for some rest and relaxation in cottage country, and after a recent breakup she wants to stay as far away from romance as possible. Then she meets her irresistible new neighbor. There's something strange and mysterious about his eyes. Is it just her imagination, or are they locked on her neck?
Garrett Mortimer is a rogue hunter. His last assignment united Lucian Argeneau with his lifemate, and Mortimer is hoping this one will be less . . . adventurous. He's here to track down a reported rogue, but fun in the sun is every bloodsucker's nightmare. Worse, he can't seem to get his mind off Samantha, especially when he spies her skinny-dipping in the lake. After eight hundred years as a bachelor, is he ready to turn a volatile attraction into a lasting love affair? Need I say more
This book was good but I don't think I will read the other books right now. To much action for my taste.I like a little break between disaster. But if you like non stop action this is the book for you
