Like every other hobbit, Bilbo Baggins likes nothing better than a quiet evening in his snug hole in the ground, dining on a sumptuous dinner in front of a fire. But when a wandering wizard captivates him with tales of the unknown, Bilbo becomes restless. Soon he joins the wizard’s band of homeless dwarves in search of giant spiders, savage wolves, and other dangers. Bilbo quickly tires of the quest for adventure and longs for the security of his familiar home. But before he can return to his life of comfort, he must face the greatest threat of all.

Where does The Hobbit rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Top 5.

What other book might you compare The Hobbit to and why?

Wheel of Time. Both are epic tales of fantasy, mystical power, and heroic action.

What does Rob Inglis bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Narration brings the characters to life. I could listen to Rob Inglis all day.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes. And I did.

    Any additional comments?

I'd recommend everyone read this tale.

If this had been about anyone else...

Has Tarkin: Star Wars turned you off from other books in this genre?

Nope. Love Star Wars and will read them all.

What does Euan Morton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Does well as narrator. Made me feel I was a part of the experience.

What character would you cut from Tarkin: Star Wars?

    Tarkin.

    Any additional comments?

This book just seems to be an installment in preparation for the new. There's no real substance here.

Tatooine - a harsh desert world where farmers toil in the heat of two suns while trying to protect themselves and their loved ones from the marauding Tusken Raiders. A backwater planet on the edge of civilized space. And an unlikely place to find a Jedi Master in hiding, or an orphaned infant boy on whose tiny shoulders rests the future of a galaxy.
