In a New York City fifty years in the future, Detective Eve Dallas tracks down those who break the law - including the ones sworn to uphold it. Eve Dallas and her partner, Peabody, are following up on a brutal, senseless crime - an elderly grocery owner killed by three stoned punks for nothing more than kicks and snacks. And for the first time, Peabody is primary detective on the case, which means she has to get used to a new level of authority and responsibility. Good thing she learned the ropes from a master like Eve. But after rounding up the perps, Peabody stumbles upon a much trickier situation.

This book is now in my top 3 of the series. Loved watching the team work "undercover". I enjoyed the small part where Peabody is "primary" giving Eve orders!
As always Susan Ericksen was fabulous!

For Lieutenant Eve Dallas of the NYPSD, the job is a useful reminder of what she has to be grateful for this season. Hosting Roarke's big Irish family for the holiday may be challenging, but it’s a joyful improvement on her own dark childhood. Other couples aren’t as lucky as Eve and Roarke. The Reinholds, for example, are lying on the floor of their Downing Street apartment, stabbed and bludgeoned almost beyond recognition. Those who knew them are stunned - and even more heartbroken by the overwhelming evidence that they were murdered by their own son.

Would you consider the audio edition of Thankless in Death to be better than the print version?

I always enjoy listening to the audio versions of the In Death books. Susan Ericksen usually does an outstanding job. I was very dissapointed that she made what I consider a careless mistake in the last minutes of the book by changing Nixie's last name. It is correct in the Kindle edition. I hope that this can be corrected. That was the only reason I didn't give the Performance 5 stars.

Three men have been murdered in a Sussex village, and Scotland Yard has been called in. It's a baffling case. The victims are soldiers who survived the horrors of the Great War only to meet a ghastly end in the quiet English countryside two years later. Each had been garroted, with small ID disks left in their mouths. But even Scotland Yard's presence doesn't deter this vicious and clever killer.

This was my first Charles Todd book. I know I jumped in the middle, but it was on sale and I like British dectectives. The writing and preformance were wonderful, but the story just left me sad. I know that is not always a bad thing, but I ended up feeling sorry for all of the characters. I would like to see how the main character progresses and might read more from this point. I won't go back and download the first ones as I feel this gave me most of the background I needed.

Her career in homicide has taken her into the darkest depths of New York City’s underground - and sometimes Lieutenant Eve Dallas feels more comfortable in those kinds of places than in the high-rise, high-society world of her billionaire husband, Roarke. But while she’s no party girl, she’s managing to have a reasonably good time at the celebrity-packed bash celebrating the debut of The Icove Agenda. This time it’s Eve, not Roarke, who’s a guest of honor, since the film is based on one of her famous cases. Her partner, Peabody, is practically giddy....

Loved the latest installment of Eve and the rest. Not as dark as New York to Dallas, so that was nice. Wish we could get more than 2 a year!!

The Dead Eyes killer lurks in the backyard of the FBI's famed Behavioral Analysis Unit. His brutal murders, unlike any others previously encountered, confound the local task force, despite the gifted skills of Special Agent Karen Vail, the first female ever promoted to the profiling unit. But along with her keen insight, Vail brings considerable personal and professional baggage--both of which threaten to derail the investigation, destroy her storied career and get her killed.

I was looking forward to find a new series to listen to, but was very dissapointed with 7th Victim, in fact I didn't even finish it. For the first time on an audiobook I skipped to the last chapter just to find out "who did it". The author lost me when he had the main character go on with the investigation when her child was in ICU saying "the hospital will call me".
