Her Last Death begins as the phone rings early one morning in the Montana house where Susanna Sonnenberg lives with her husband and two young sons. Her aunt is calling to tell Susanna her mother is in a coma after a car accident. She might not live. Any daughter would rush the thousands of miles to her mother's bedside. But Susanna cannot bring herself to go. Her courageous memoir explains why.

    "alarming, sad, and absoutely disgusting"
    Overall

how can the author dare write about such an obviously no moral compas, sex addict, drug use, pediphile, abortion, and more sex daughter and mother relationship. The more I got in to this book the more disgusting the story became. And this whole story is so sad because it is so true for alot of people. I would not recommend this book to anyone.

The New York Times best-selling author of The Six Wives of Henry VIII and The War of the Roses, historian Alison Weir crafts fascinating portraits of England’s infamous House of Tudor line. Here Weir focuses on Elizabeth I, also known as the Virgin Queen, who ascended to the throne at age 25 and never married, yet ruled for 44 years and steered England into its Golden Age.

This is a long book and I got through all the vaginal conversations the entire world was saying. This flirty woman did not feel she could Marry so you arranged marriages among her friends. He however continued to entertain one man who happened to be married. and this book goes on about the conditioned and the use of Elizabeth's need to produce an heir. So, vaginas, heir, flirty are all you get out of this book. very little historical history.
I am going to give this book back. Reading the Tudors was magnificent and held my interest, but this spin off is just boring and flat.

The Passage of Power follows Lyndon Johnson through both the most frustrating and the most triumphant periods of his career - 1958 to 1964. It is a time that would see him trade the extraordinary power he had created for himself as Senate Majority Leader for what became the wretched powerlessness of a Vice President in an administration that disdained and distrusted him. Yet it was, as well, the time in which the presidency, the goal he had always pursued, would be thrust upon him in the moment it took an assassin’s bullet to reach its mark.

On Manhattan’s Upper East Side, a woman lies dead at the bottom of a brownstone’s basement steps, stripped of all her valuables. Most cops might call it a mugging gone wrong, but Lieutenant Eve Dallas knows better. A well-off accountant and a beloved wife and mother, Marta Dickenson doesn’t seem the type to be on anyone’s hit list. But when Eve and her partner, Peabody, find blood inside the brownstone, she knows Marta’s murder is the work of a killer who’s trained, yet not professional or smart enough to remove all the evidence.

    Story

interesting but the narrator really bungles this up. The fake accents and the flexion of the narrrators voice are not consistent with the characters. An irish accent here ends up being an irish accent by mistake on someone else. And the voice of Peabody is so stupid and false sounding. Plus, I have never heard more abbreviations used in this book. The author says vid for viedo, vic for victim, pov for point of view, the L T for letunient (sp), And plenty more. No one talks that way. It took me awhile to understand vid for video. and then hearing "Let's get the L T here to look at this Vid of the Vic......come on, really. I would not recommend this book.

Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

From 1999 to 2009, U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle recorded the most career sniper kills in United States military history. The Pentagon has officially confirmed more than 150 of Kyles kills (the previous American record was 109), but it has declined to verify the astonishing total number for this book. Iraqi insurgents feared Kyle so much they named him al-Shaitan ("the devil") and placed a bounty on his head.

If it is war then let the guys do their jobs and stop this micro management. Plus, I read this book after Chris was murdered at his home in Texas, so it made this all the sadder for me. The Narrator tried to get the southern accent down but it sounded phoney and just not good at all. The book was good, and I was glad to be able
to read this accounting of the Seals life. The one thing that really disturbs me is the Hazing that goes on. Why does that still go on?

This story is told in the words of a tragic figure in American history - a hook-nosed, hollow-cheeked old Sauk warrior who lived under four flags while the Mississippi Valley was being wrested from his people. The author is Black Hawk himself - once pursued by an army whose members included Captain Abraham Lincoln and Lieutenant Jefferson Davis. Perhaps no Indian ever saw so much of American expansion or fought harder to prevent that expansion from driving his people to exile and death.
