The year was 2014. We had cured cancer. We had beat the common cold. But in doing so we created something new, something terrible that no one could stop. The infection spread, virus blocks taking over bodies and minds with one, unstoppable command: FEED.

overall its a good story and not what i expected. The doing the mens voices is distracting and the guy doing the girls voices is also weird and the only thing that really bothered me about the reading. Easily overlooked though.

Some of the description repetition gets annoying and takes the imagination away, i could get the idea of a characters emotion pretty quick but then they would keep explaining how a character was feeling.

    worth listening too for sure.

the build up for the characters is fantastic. The way everything weaves together is great, not forced or random to fill holes in the story.

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer. Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries....

Overall the story was sub par and I didn't care for the characters, the story felt scattered and the voice acting was accurate but I got tired of it very quickly.

For Durzo Blint, assassination is an art---and he is the city's most accomplished artist, his talents required from alleyway to courtly boudoir. For Azoth, survival is precarious, something you never take for granted. As a guild rat, he's grown up in the slums and learned to judge people quickly---and to take risks. Risks like apprenticing himself to Durzo Blint. But to be accepted, Azoth must turn his back on his old life and embrace a new identity and name.

What did you love best about The Way of Shadows?

it had a compelling story and didnt feel like the normal story of boy meets girl and boy grows up and learns magic. The story felt fresh and had me engaged all the way through.

What did you like best about this story?

The relationship between the two main characters was great.

What about Paul Boehmer’s performance did you like?

solid reading, a few questionable voices but over all it made it easy to follow and enhanced the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The way the end of the book worked out was fantastic, I cant wait to start the next.

    Any additional comments?

A little more sappy love story than i would have expected but it worked well for the overall story arc.
