What made the experience of listening to Damn Few the most enjoyable?

Damn few was well written and very well put together. It flowed from one point to another without effort.

What did you like best about this story?

The history, honor (to self and country), the respect and how it was not based on immediate gratification but on sacrifice and determination.

    Any additional comments?

This book should be mandatory reading/listening for today's generation. They need to learn about heroes, working for what you want, honor and patriotism. For way to many these items are missing in their lives.

Jack Ryan has only just moved back into the Oval Office when he is faced with a new international threat. An aborted coup in the People's Republic of China has left President Wei Zhen Lin with no choice but to agree with the expansionist policies of General Su Ke Quiang. They have declared the South China Sea a protectorate and are planning an invasion of Taiwan. The Ryan administration is determined to thwart China’s ambitions, but the stakes are dangerously high as a new breed of powerful Chinese anti-ship missiles endanger the US Navy's plans to protect the island.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Tom Clancy and Mark Greaney make a great combination and Lou Diamond Phillips provided a great read. I have always enjoyed both authors but in combination with continuation of Clancy's story line, this is a hit. I was initially concerned when I saw that LD Phillips was the reader but he did a great job and I will be looking for more that he has done.

Jane Sagan: Soldier. Killer. Lover. Dreamer. In John Scalzi's best-selling Old Man's War series of science-fiction novels, we see this warrior woman as the other characters see her - silent and strong, from the outside. But now The Sagan Diary shows us Sagan from another point of view: her own, as she prepares to leave military life and join her new husband and adopted daughter on a colony world.

Robert says: "Nothing like Scalzi's old man's war."

What disappointed you about The Sagan Diary?

Not sure why but I just could not listen to the story. It did not flow or peak my interest. Will not try any more from this author.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Have you listened to any of Nick Podehl???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

First book by Podehl that I have listened to but will be looking for more.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I had the time. Kept you going throughout the whole story.

    Any additional comments?

Podehl kept you wanting to listen to more. I very much enjoyed how it flowed from the story being told by the story teller to being in the story.

Would you listen to A Conflict of Interest again? Why?

Mitzner adds an interesting twist to an already entangled story.

What other book might you compare A Conflict of Interest to and why?

Adam Mitzner's writing flows well and brings legal fiction along at the level of John Grisham's writings. Looking forward to more.
