"Delightful!"
A joy to read/listen to. Good story, great wit and humor, fine narration. One of those I will read again some day just for the fun of it.
"Great!"
Ron McLarty is great as usual, 5 stars. Why clutter up a good thing with a not so great for the character female voice and cheesy sound effects?
I completely and thoroughly enjoyed this read, once I got over two voices and sound effects. Actually, I don't even remember hearing them by the end of the book, but they must have been there. And who cares if the hit man is lovable? Lovable is good! Makes for a much more sympathetic character. Relax and enjoy a great Baldacci ride.
"I'm Finding Gods Everywhere"
George Guidall is wonderful. I will read a book that he reads just because he's reading it.
A really fun and thought-provoking book. Enjoyed every minute of it. And as I look around the world I live in, I see these new gods everywhere!
"Terrible narration"
I read this book when it first came out in the late 80's, and it has been in my thoughts ever since. So for maybe 25 years I have, with some regularity, thought back to it. Very few books affect me in this way.I was delighted when it came out in audio form, and spent a whole credit on it.
I still have not finished it. The narration is the most uninspired and monotonous I have ever experienced in a audio fiction book. Akin to a bad lecturer in a subject I'm not really interested in.
Don't waste your credits for this terrible rendition of a wonderful book.
