In a cave high in the Alps, a renegade anthropologist discovers a frozen Neanderthal couple with a Homo sapiens baby. Meanwhile, in southern Russia, the U.N. investigation of a mysterious mass grave is cut short. One of the investigators, molecular biologist Kaye Lang, returns home to the U.S. to learn that her theory on human retroviruses has been verified with the discovery of SHEVA, a virus that has slept in our DNA for millions of years and is now waking up.

Paul Krasner says: "Really good science fiction"
    "D'ont even start it."
    Overall

Marvelous until the last few chapters. There is no resolution, but more of the same, characters going from place to place forever. The author has the government "stealing' these kids as if they were criminals. not realistic given the rest of the plot.

John Wells is the only American CIA agent ever to penetrate al Qaeda. Since before the attacks in 2001, Wells has been hiding in the mountains of Pakistan, biding his time, building his cover.

    "OK, but"

I like action, and this book, though well written, didn't have much. All the character analysis and history add nothing. Could be cut by 75% and not lose the plot.

When CIA "fixer" Micah Dalton's friend and mentor turns up dead, he's put on a collision course with a killer who has a penchant for intricate knife-work and Native American mysticism, a sadist who is killing ex-CIA agents. The victims are hard-nosed field men whose only link to one another seems to be a global surveillance operation called Echelon. The murders appear to be acts of retribution. But for what?

    Carmela08 says: "Excellent spy tale"
    "Extremely disapointing"
    Overall

I have rarely been so disapointed in a book! It took a while to get into it. I really had to force myself. I guess my worst disapointment was the ending. It was so phony...as if the editors said "finish," and he scared up a few meaningless situations and "Voila"...off to the printers. I'm sorry I ever bought it.
