Captain Nemo captures the men on his incredible submarine, the Nautilus. The captain and his unwilling passengers thus embark on a deep-sea odyssey that stretches from the palm-strewn Indian Ocean to the frozen peril of the South Pole. But the enigmatic Nemo has a darker purpose for his voyage...revenge on humanity.

This is a particularly good naration of this classic story by Jules Verne. The reader has a good speaking voice and does a good job with the different characters. The story itself is very complelling and enjoyable to listen to. This occupies a permanent place in my in-car collection as well as on my iPod.

  • Earth in the Balance: Ecology and the Human Spirit

Tired of all this dirty campaigning? Before running for the presidency or becoming VP, Al Gore led a very clean campaign, for the environment, that is. Listen to Gore in his own voice as he argues that only a radical rethinking of our relationship with nature can save the Earth's ecology for future generations.

    Overall

This author is often overlooked due to political impressions presented by various news agencies during (and after) the elections but Al Gore is a very well versed writer on environmental topics. This book has fantastic content, even if the audio is only level 2 and Mr. Gore presents valid information to back his points. He has personaly traveled to these places where man's impact on his home has been very strong. This book is well written and is both a good read and listen. I strongly suggest that you put aside impressions created by the media and make a judgement call for yourself; listen to this book!
