Why do people find it so hard to change? The secret is that everyone has their own formula for making changes that stick, but most people don't know what theirs is. They think there is one way to lose five pounds, and another way to stay on top of their e-mail, but they don't realize that for all changes, there is one system that works best for each individual.

If you could sum up This Year I Will in three words, what would they be?

    Good advice, ideas

Who was your favorite character and why?

No characters in this book. Is a self help one not a novel.

Have you listened to any of M. J. Ryan’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    No

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No because sounded like it was being read in a tunnel.

    Any additional comments?

The book is a good one giving the reader much to digest from the little I heard. Lots of advice and how-to's to make changes from reading rhe preview. But rapid fire reading was hard to follow. I decided to get the book instead of rewinding to understand what was being said. It should have been read slower so the listener could understand the processes needed to make those changes in their life. I found it good enough to purchase the book.

If you could sum up The Haunting of Hill House in three words, what would they be?

I loved the twists and turns and the ghostly feeling you get from listening to the book. The reader gave it a special chill factor

What other book might you compare The Haunting of Hill House to and why?

Never read anything like this one. Would like to if there was one out there like it.

    Any additional comments?

I loved the book but "something" seemed missing to me. I have no idea what but at the end I felt a little let down. Anyone have that feeling?

"You have to kill him." Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain. Only Em can complete the final instruction. She's tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present - imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called "the doctor" while war rages outside.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Yes, there are too many "scenes" that are similar in nature.

If you’ve listened to books by Cristin Terrill before, how does this one compare?

    This is the first

What three words best describe Meredith Mitchell’s performance?

    Calm, changeable, ?

Was All Our Yesterdays worth the listening time?

    No, not for me.

    Any additional comments?

Don't think I would listen to time travel books again. This one was too confusing with several scenes that were similar and seemed repetitious to me. This is a Sci-Fi book not a mystery. If you are into Sci-Fi then go for it. Just wasn't for me.

Would you consider the audio edition of Heft to be better than the print version?

I also am buying the printed version because I want to read this book over and over.

What other book might you compare Heft to and why?

There is no other book that compares to Heft. The authors insight into human nature is overwhelming. It was like she actually lived the life of Arthur and Arthur Kel.

Have you listened to any of Kirby Heyborne and Keith Szarabajka ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This is my first time and I am extremely impressed with the way they showed how they actually felt. It was like they lived the characters themselves.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes and yes and yes!! I listened to the book hours and hours. I didn't want to stop, it was so intriguing.

    Any additional comments?

I highly recommend this book. The characters come to life and you will actually find yourself talking back to them. The only word I can use to describe Heft is powerful.

Yes, it is intriguing, has a little romance, mystery at it's best.

Yes it sure did. You never knew what was coming next.

What does Elizabeth Michaels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I enjoyed the inflections in Ms. Michaels voice. Brought drama to the book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    I enjoyed it all.

    Any additional comments?

Regardless of what other reviews stated this is not a silly school girl book nor is it ridiculous. I thoroughly enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. If you are looking for a deep serious mystery then this is not for you. It is light, funny, certain parts keep you spell bound so just try it.

Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

Where does Sycamore Row rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would rank this in the middle.

What about Michael Beck’s performance did you like?

Michael Beck made the story come to life!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    No, I listen in segments.

    Any additional comments?

The book, for me, dragged the first 2 parts. Although it had a feeling of mystery, there were too many details with the other characters. The first two parts set the stage for what Mississippi was like back in the 1980's. That was interesting but I felt some of it had nothing to do with the story line. Some will argue with me over that but it was dragging along with all the details. The last part, had more action. My biggest disappointment was when the lawyer, Brigance, was touting he was going to defend Hubbard's will no matter what, gave in to the Judge's request for sharing the inheritance. If he was going head to head with all the others involved why did he give in at all? He said he would fulfill Hubbard's request but he didn't.
