"Who are they?"
Although pretty graphic it was not any worse than what is on TV these days. I couldn't rate it any higher because I felt left with a feeling of having been through a horrific event without knowing any of the people around me. The characters were never really developed, it was like an "event" with some names thrown in.
"Good"
The story is very good. The reader was good but reminded me of the old 60's cop shows.I think very good overall but was my favorite kind of read.
"Really enjoyed it"
Was a nice listen just the right amount of Christmas and suspense. I happened to be listening to it a few days before Christmas but it would be a good read anytime of year.
"Truly captivating and a mysery to the very end . ."
The story is like none other I have ever read or listened to, there was no feeling of been there, done that, with this book. The "fairytales" just sucked me in, I felt a part of them. The performance was exquist. Susan Erickson made each character their own and just did an amazing job. So very worth listening to.
"Suspense? Thriller? Mystery? Whatever . . ."
Very well read, the narrator was very good. The story had potential but never really was told. It was like 60% sex, 30% dog training and 10% suspense. The profanity was way over used and made the male character an ass in my mind.
"All good but . . ."
I enjoyed the story and the performance was good except for the voice of Tom, I found that rather irritating - overall a good listen.
"Maybe the best yet!"
This book was the best. Full of things going on, new things happening to our favorite characters. Can't wait for the next one.
"A disappointment"
I waited for this book only to find it disappointing compared to his others. Not bad if you haven't read the rest of the series but I was not happy. I will continue to Read C.J. Box's books, he is excellent, this one just didn't get the job done for me. David Chandler was great as always.
"Very good story, well read"
Well written and read. Even though I already knew the outcome I had to keep listening. Without giving the story away, I just can't believe the system is so bad, incredible. I love Oregon and plan on a camping trip in this same area this summer. I will definately be keeping my ear to the wall.
"Questionable classification"
I bought this book hoping for a nice Christmas story, even if it was to be one of those too sweet romances. I think maybe it should be placed under Erotica. The 28 year old virgin is made out to be totally stupid and the descriptive "deflowering" of her just doesn't get it for a "christmas" story. It just goes on and on about how innocent she is and descriptive sex. Throughly disappointed. Waste of money even if one wants to hear about the sex.
