This works. Interesting to get to know the man behind the muts.
This book was a great balance between his life and technique.
The sound effects and "music" were soooo irritating. I guess they were trying to set a mood by using out of tune instruments. I got this to entertain my daughters while we drove and we ended up laughing at the awful music instead. I wanted to get them interested in Tolkien but this presentation was not the way to go. The producers placed much more importance on grunts and groans than they did the story. Many places the sound effects made it hard to hear the actual dialog.
I'm trying the American version. Hope it is better for the rest of the series.
Yes opportunity is important. No very successful person I know says any different. I have never heard any very successful person say "I got here because I am great". They have always said "I just happened to be in the right place at the right time".
The point is they were willing to work hard when that opportunity opened. How many other kids at Bill Gate's school decided to bury themselves in that computer lab? They were all the same age, had the same opportunity, and many were probably as smart but Bill put in the hours.
This was very interesting but the conclusions the writer tries to make are weak. Several times the writer claims America's love affair with the strong individualist is misguided. He is wrong. Bill G didn't get there because he was the most popular kid in school - he was a strong individualist geek who found the computer room much more interesting than the politics of what ever else was going on.
Wow, this should be required reading. We're seeing this actually happen today. I have heard politicians say things the idiots in her book said. We are seeing the "If I just had more power I could fix it" mentality. I wish someone could make a movie of this.
Excellent. Informative and interesting stories in which to frame the information. It is a bit morbid but I am a wilderness first responder and ski patroller and this worked as a good refresher to help me keep in mind what is going on. I have recomended sections of this to be used for intructional purposes.
This information is actually being studied but there are few places you will hear about it. Need to get Dossey on Oprah or something
As per his writing style this book brings up interesting questions that someone should be asking. Interestingly developed but in audio format the news stories that are interspersed get confusing. Also, whether they are actual news stories or simply additional fiction is unclear.
Entertaining none the less.
I was hoping for something I could use as massage music and this wasn't it.
I was looking for a book on Ike. The tech stuff was interesting but not really much news
I was dissapointed in this book. There was nothing I couldn't have learned in a basic Google search. It was a poorly written sales pitch. With stuff like this, no wonder she didn't get a chance to get her voice heard.
