Emperor Mollusk. Intergalactic Menace. Destroyer of Worlds. Conqueror of Other Worlds. Mad Genius. Ex-Warlord of Earth. Not bad for a guy without a spine. But what's a villain to do after he's done... everything. With no new ambitions, he's happy to pitch in and solve the energy crisis or repel aliens invaders should the need arise, but if he had his way, he'd prefer to be left alone to explore the boundaries of dangerous science. Just as a hobby, of course. Retirement isn't easy though.

Would you consider the audio edition of Emperor Mollusk Versus the Sinister Brain to be better than the print version?

Loved this so much!! Wonderfully written; masterfully written! And the narrator performs so well, I felt I was there!! Listened to twice! Moving, funny, funny, funny, touching, funny! Loved this author so much, I am getting his other books and I will follow this narrator as well. The best I have heard yet!!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Emporer Mollusk! The narrator so well defined his character, I began to associate him with people I know who act like he does. He is the the epitome of the anti-hero!

What does Scott Aiello bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

EVERYTHING! Accents, voice changes are perfect! Everything! He is the best!!!!!!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

All of the above! Couldn't put it down and when I did, couldn't stop thinking about listening to it again. Sometimes I would listen to this story til 4am!

    Any additional comments?

    Just the best all around!

His name is Nathan Garrett, but he’s also known as Hellequin. And murdering one of his friends and trying to blow him up is a good way to get this centuries-old sorcerer’s full attention… An old friend’s dead body, a cryptic note, and an explosion that almost costs him his own life propel Nate headfirst into a mystery involving a new threat from an old foe. Now he must piece together the connections between a grisly series of tattooed murder victims, an imprisoned madman, a mysterious alchemist, and a deranged plot to usurp the throne of the hidden realm of Shadow Falls, rival to the power of Avalon

What did you love best about With Silent Screams?

The constant growning and revelation of the Hellequin. He is "evolving" (for lack of a better word) into someone more powerful each episode. On the edge of my seat waiting to see what he will be come. Saddened though that he sacrificed one power for another though!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Toss up between the Hellequin and Ares.

What does James Langton bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

    Everything!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Hellequin is strapped to the table and seemingly is going to be tortured, BUT he is not worried at all! Like he has a secret. . . .

    Any additional comments?

PLEASE HURRY UP WITH BOOK 4! PLEASE!!!
Of all the books I listen to, the Hellequin Series tops the list. . . but only just a hairs breadth ahead of the Iron Druid Chronicles!

How do you keep the people you care about safe from enemies you can’t remember? Ten years ago, Nate Garrett awoke on a cold warehouse floor with no memory of his past and the only clues to his identity were a piece of paper with his name on it and a propensity toward magic. Now he’s a powerful sorcerer and a successful thief for hire, but it turns out that those who stole his memories aren’t done with him yet. When they cause a job to go bad, threatening a sixteen-year-old girl, Nate swears to protect her.

Would you listen to Crimes Against Magic again? Why?

    Over and over and over!!

What other book might you compare Crimes Against Magic to and why?

Alex Verus. Same character type (except the Hellequin is more powerful). But the climaxes are emotional and exciting! Can't put down.

    Which scene was your favorite?

When He realizes that He is the Hellequin. Even the beginning with the werewolves.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

    HELLEQUIN!

    Any additional comments?

Can't wait to see his powers unfold as a necromancer. Great 3rd Book!!!

For nearly 2,000 years, only one Druid has walked the Earth - Atticus O’Sullivan, the Iron Druid, whose sharp wit and sharp sword have kept him alive as he’s been pursued by a pantheon of hostile deities. Now he’s got company. Atticus’ apprentice, Granuaile, is at last a full Druid herself. What’s more, Atticus has defrosted an archdruid long ago frozen in time, a father figure (of sorts) who now goes by the modern equivalent of his old Irish name: Owen Kennedy. And Owen has some catching up to do.

What did you love best about Shattered?

Written from three different view points. I love Owen Kennedy!!!! Ovenue Ka Nae Dee!! So phenomenally written interlude to the confrontation with Loki!! Every chapter is fulfilling, real, "awesome!!"

What was one of the most memorable moments of Shattered?

The last chapter with Granuiel where he says "Let him come!" Referring to Loki and preferring death over separation from Granuiel! A true hero. He lives, truly lives at that moment. . . (tears) Here he becomes the center of the universe for all, the piece that binds the whole puzzle, the glue between broken pages, solidifying his existence in the universe as the hope of all . . . a true hero.

Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Would you consider the audio edition of We’re Alive to be better than the print version?

MOST DEFINITELY. . ..EXCEPT I HAVENT READ THE PRINT VERSION, BUT THE AUDIO PROVIDES THE OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP CHARACTER IDENTITY BY VOICE, ACCENTS, (IE RILEY AND DATU)!

What was one of the most memorable moments of We’re Alive?

I LISTENED TO ALL THREE (AND IMPATIENTLY WAITING FOR SERIES 4) BUT THE MOST MEMORABLE IS DATU'S CAPTURE IN THE STADIUM AND THE DEATH OF SAMANTHA. SHE PLAYS SUCH A SHORT ROLE, BUT IMMEDIATELY SHE CAPTURES THE SPIRIT OF THE WHOLE BOOK!

Have you listened to any of Blackstone Audiobooks’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

THIS IS THE FIRST AND THIS ONE INSPIRED ME TO PURCHASE MORE DRAMATIZED!

DON'T KNOW BUT SOMETHING ABOUT SAUL!!!!

    Any additional comments?

SAUL IS STUBBORN, DOESN'T LISTEN, HEAD STRONG, YET HE IS A SUPER SOLDIER! I TOO SERVED OVERSEAS AND LOVE HIS CHARACTER! NOW ON THE BATTLEFIELD WITH A SOLDIER LIKE THAT I WOULD PROBABLY PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE, BUT HE GETS THE JOB DONE AND DOES NOT OVERTHINK IT! SKILLzzz!

Would you listen to Wings of Wrath again? Why?

Yes. Except, there were so many juxtaposing storylines that I was hoping to hear more of the main character development.

What other book might you compare Wings of Wrath to and why?

None. It has its own life unlike the other books I have listened to.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Elisabeth Rodgers?

Yes. She is a good reader.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    For the most part, Yes.

    Any additional comments?

The recording of the chapters kept cutting short. Many of the chapters ended before the reader stopped reading causing the listener to not hear the final words of those chapters. That was unnerving!

If you could sum up Twice Dead in three words, what would they be?

    Great character interaction!

What did you like best about this story?

That I did not like the main character! Its a good thing when the characters are either loved or hated. The writer has done their job! I hated the main character for being rebellious, whiny, foolish, and troublesome.

What about Piper Goodeve’s performance did you like?

    Good job!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Neither! No extreme reaction, except to the ending when the "judge" shows up! Sequel?

    Number 11! He was interesting!

What about Jeffrey Kafer’s performance did you like?

His voice. Rough. Like the voice of a 1980's private investigator. The Dick Tracy, Magnum P.I. feel to his voice!

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Number 42's epiphany and transformation.

In this second in a series, The Via Advent, Shawn Small's creative and unique retelling of the familiar story of the birth of Christ into our world captures anew the profound mystery of Christ's incarnation. The Via Advent is a celebration both of the birth of Christ and of those individuals whose faithfulness, patient supplication, and obedience to the high calling of God was so wonderfully and faithfully rewarded. Presented in the context of their history and in the fullness of their humanity, Shawn invites the reader to participate in the discovery of the Messiah through the lens of those whose lives intersected so dramatically with the great unveiling.

Where does The Via Advent rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

So far, I would say near the bottom, but every book I listened to so far has been PHENOMENAL! Via Crucis ranks at the top!

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

I like the concept of the Angel in Heaven getting ready to record the birth of Christ, but a lot of readers who are "religious" and not spiritual would have been confused by this notion. But, as a reader, we must also understand our author is catholic.

Have you listened to any of Shawn Small’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Via Crucis!! Via Crucis cannot be compared to!

Jesus touches each of these and many others seen and unseen on his agony-filled way to the cross. Combining sacred scripture, storytelling, and personal reflection, The Via Crucis draws readers into a heartfelt and inspiring contemplation of Jesus' sacrifice and his triumphant victory over death. Raw, vivid stories voiced by those present at Christ's trials and crucifixion capture the pain, power, and passion of the Savior's suffering on humanity's behalf.

None. Not even the Via Advent. The crucis is phenomenal spiritual insight.

What does Shawn Small bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He wrote it. So he read it how he heard it in his head. He brought to life his vision.
