I loved this book. It took me away to Cinque Terre and hiking thru the hills. It took me back to the 60s and the movie stars of the time. Edoardo Ballerini is marvelous to listen to. He is a master with his voice. The accents and voices of either man or woman he was wonderful. I have listened to this book already twice. Some parts more. Jess Walter spins a wonderful story with interesting characters I would like to know, scenes so vivid I am there. Parts were sweet, parts funny, parts witty and parts melancholy. A classic I will listen to again.
This is a very complicated story. I listened to it all the way thru and then went back an listened to it again. Wow.. I understood it all and it was beautiful the 2nd time around. There are several time periods the book bounces from. And one main character has a name change... confused me. But in the end. I really loved this one and have listened to it all the way thru a 3rd time. very good
Did not like the reader. Had a very difficult time engaging in the story at the beginning. Couldn't understand the reader much of the time. Gave up on it .. Read the book
