John and Jenny were just beginning their life together. They were young and in love, with a perfect little house and not a care in the world. Then they brought home Marley, a wriggly yellow furball of a puppy. Life would never be the same.

Reade says: "One of the worst"
    "Good read"

I love this book! I laughed deeply; I cried deeply. Anyone who has raised a puppy to adulthood will appreciate this book. The only negative is the narrator.

  • 1225 Christmas Tree Lane: Cedar Cove, Book 12

Beth Morehouse expects this Christmas to be one of her best. Her small Christmas-tree farm is prospering, her daughters and her dogs are happy and well, and her new relationship with local vet Ted Reynolds is showing plenty of romantic promise. But... someone recently left a basket filled with puppies on her doorstep, puppies she’s determined to place in good homes. That’s complication number one. And number two is that her daughters Bailey and Sophie have invited their dad, Beth’s ex-husband, Kent, to Cedar Cove for Christmas.

    Anne Roberts says: "Confusing"
    "Extremely Annoying Narration"

What did you like best about 1225 Christmas Tree Lane? What did you like least?

I enjoy Debbie Macomber's books but I almost stopped listening to this one due to the narrator. Besides feeling like I was being read to like a 1st grader, Sandra Burr has the most obnoxious voice characterizations I have ever heard. I have listened to hundreds of books on my ipod and I have never before encountered a narration so awful that I was tempted to turn it off. Unfortunately, she narrates several Macomber books. I will download those to my Kindle to read at night.

  • World Without End

In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

Laura says: "Repetitive, but still enjoyable"
    "Great read"

This is a great sequel to the fabulous book, Pillars of the Earth. Hope there is another!
