In The Dragon Factory, Ledger and his team from the Department of Military Sciences square off against two separate groups of corrupt scientists. The beautiful but twisted Jakoby Twins are creating transgenic monsters and genetically enhanced mercenaries for sale to the highest bidder. Their father, who takes evil to an entirely new level, is using cutting-edge science to complete the Nazi master-race program.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I've never been a fan of violent stories or crude language, but the narrative, scenes and technology presented in Dragon Factory advance the story and enhance the characters. Makes it worthwhile. Actually, I started listening to the series with this book, then immediately doubled back and am now listening to everything Mayberry has done. Quite enjoyable -- although I've realized that I should not consider it bedtime listening. Give it a try for an exciting and captivating listen.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Dragon Factory?

shattering the conspiracy and finally recognizing the roles the players were actually doing as the plot advances. Nicely crafted.

Which character – as performed by Ray Porter – was your favorite?

Just about all characters came alive, but the main protagonist, Joe Lester, carried the tone and storyline very well. There were even a few laughs thrown in.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Wish I could have! I actually turned of the TV to continue to listen as the plot unrolled.

    Any additional comments?

A nice change from the smarmy, thwarted love "Z" stories.
