"Absolutely delightful!"
Enchanting, amusing and imaginative!
That it was a book written for, and appropriate for, young readers but equally to be enjoyed by adults, like the Harry Potter books.
Any scene with Twinkle.
No, this book is for lighthearted entertainment.
You should read or listen to the first book in the series, Howl's Moving Castle, and the second, Castle in the Air, before this one. This series is appropriate for preteen readers (except those unfortunate readers whose parents object to witches and wizards).
"Interesting concept, flawed narration"
I might try another book by O'Malley but I would avoid another narration by Duerden.
I liked the concept of the book but the author worked too hard on humor and not enough on suspense. The main character is amusing, which is why I might try another book, but I believe I would try it in print so I could skim some parts if I needed to.
Duerden has a very annoying way of reading everything in a breathless whisper. The dialogue wasn't too bad but the general narration was hard to take.
Well, I finished it, which is why I gave it a three but I was looking forward to the end so I could start something better.
"Fantasy for right-wing gun nuts"
There's nothing wrong with this title if you love guns and hate the government. Since I don't fit into either of those categories I couldn't get very far with it. Expect lots of talk about guns and shooting.
