"We need a current book to promote Reacher!"
I have a suspicion that Hollywood requested a book prior to the release of "Jack Reacher" the movie.. This book is not any where near the quality of Lee Child's other works. It seems to be written on the fly with no outline or story line followed.
"very good historical novel"
Binet's wit and unusual way of telling a horrific story is captivating. The book is never dull and John Lee is superb as always. If Audible had five more novels by this duo I would purchase them now.
"Scott Brick was very good as usual"
I wish I could say the same for the novel. It was preductable and sophomoric - below Coben's past efforts. Disappointing.
"Disappointing"
Although the subject matter intersts me and the premise of the book sounded promising, I found this novel to be very slow moving, predictable, and bordering on boring.
"Best use of a credit in quite a whlle."
Very good story. I enjoyed hearing the viewpoints of the New Guinea natives some 60 years after the event. Don't let the fact that the auithor narrates the book scare you away - he does an excellant job.
"Just paying the rent"
Little thought went into this simplistic book. Very disappointing. I expected more from Kellerman.
"Same author?"
I find it hard to believe that the person who wrote the wonderful "Water for Elephants" wrote this!
"Patton is great"
With apologies to all the Faulkner enthusiasts, I found this to be a beautifully written and terribly dreary novel. Will Patton was excellant as usual.
"Editors?"
Aren't there editors who review audio books before they are released? If a reader is referring to non-fictional people or places they should learn how the names are pronounced. These mistakes were so prominent in this book that it was distracting.
