"Fun! . The kids in the car want this one on ."
Fun! . The kids in the car want this one on all the time .
I have put other audiobooks on but this is their favorite.
Upon first listen I thought I had wasted my money but after 2 months
repeatedly playing this one for the kindygarten and school run they still want to listen to it. even other school friends are singing along .
I will be looking for another one of these .
"Colonizing Asteroids"
No . I love KSR but I would rather bang my head on a wall than listen to this again from this narrator .
More characters . I enjoyed the time when the small group travelled the tunnel underground on Mercury
Very unwilling . I am really not sure ( Sorry Sarah ) if I could , Maybe this book was ot her style .
Think Big
I have read and listened and enjoyed the Mars Trilogy and understand the style of KSR but the narration for 2312 killed this book . I may try to swap this book and one day purchase a hard copy and read for myself or maybe listen again if re-narrated .
"My kids asked me to turn it off , I agreed"
There where so horrible songs in this story (sorry) .
During a drive with the kids we listened to this and the story about how they where going to pick up a child for adoption was a little strange , I am fine with anything but I thought it was a children's story and I just was not prepared for it . Ha ha . But really , I did not find the Jamie Lee Curtis Audio Collection entertaining . I might see if I can swap this .
"Not as dreadful as I thought"
Not in the top 20 , but memorable
nothing , it is what it is
The Lead . Simon Prebble is a pleasing narrator
I did find myself grinding my teeth and jaw in suspense toward the end ( I won't spoil it )
As a child of the 80's and a teenager during the emergence of the internet , I do not think
that the fears of 1984's suggested are possible in the age of twitter and facebook .
or are they here now ?...... wait .. who is that knocking on my door ...............
"I came to listen to Penn"
This was Ok . I only got this to listen to Penn Jillette talk .
I was saddened that this was not as funny as I thought it would be .
This would be good as a blog or a few articles .
I really should have thought this one through before this purchase.
"I missed the point but Logan's Run is familiar"
I am glad this was a novella and I had this on 2x speed and it still felt like a chore to get through. The narration was like listening to " How to install ink into a printer For Dummies "
I had purchased Ayn Rand's other audio book before I had listened to this . So I have 32 hours of The Fountainhead to listen to , I hope it was not a mistake .
"Flashman = Basil Faulty and Indiana Jones"
Listening to this book I could imagine it a hilarious film .
I was surprise to discover that Flashman has been made a movie star in 1975
I think its time for a reboot
"Classic? , Yes"
My introduction to Hemingway guided by Sutherland's voice was an enjoyable experience .
I will be looking at more Hemingway , He seems to know his fishing .
I am fairly sure I got this for around $6 during a special or a "buy on get one free"
$11 is too much
"You've heard it all before"
The voices for the characters where annoying .
There was not a great deal learnt in this book that I did not know already .
However I could listen to stories about the Band all day long .
"HAHA HAHA"
I love John's stories , I love his laugh even better .
I fell off my chair with laughter a few times .
"A storm is coming"
Drones are bad , Drones with no pilot are terrifying .
Jeff Gurner is a great narrator
