After losing his leg to a land mine in Afghanistan, Cormoran Strike is barely scraping by as a private investigator. Then John Bristow walks through his door with an amazing story: his sister, the legendary supermodel Lula Landry, famously fell to her death a few months earlier. The police ruled it a suicide, but John refuses to believe that. The case plunges Strike into the world of multimillionaire beauties, rock-star boyfriends, and desperate designers, and it introduces him to every variety of pleasure, enticement, seduction, and delusion known to man.

What does Robert Glenister bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He does a fabulous job with the character voices, tone and inflections.

What did you like best about this story?

I did not figure out the end before the author decided to reveal it. Excellent!

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Husband wasn't thrilled with one of the narrator's voices, thought it was too monotonous, but I wasn't bothered by it.

Blockbuster author Lisa Scottoline returns to the Rosato & Associates law firm with Betrayed, and maverick lawyer Judy Carrier takes the lead in a case that's more personal than ever. Judy has always championed the underdog, so when Iris, the housekeeper and best friend of Judy's beloved Aunt Barb, is found dead of an apparent heart attack, Judy begins to suspect foul play. The circumstances of the death leave Judy with more questions than answers, and never before has murder struck so close to home.

    What disappointed you about Betrayed?

Unrelenting family arguments and drama. I enjoyed the first book in the series but will hesitate to listen to any more.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Less details of all the drama and a better narrator

What didn’t you like about Maria Bello’s performance?

Her enunciation of every letter in every word made the story feel stilted and unnatural
