Win one for The Gipper. Has there ever been a better-known and widely-used exhortative phrase in sports? Not likely. But who was the "Gipper", this mythical-like sports figure whose nickname has aroused, in turn, awe, wonderment, curiosity, and amusement since the second decade of the 20th century, and why is his story important? Answering those questions is the formidable task taken on here by veteran sportswriter Jack Cavanaugh.

Would you try another book from Jack Cavanaugh and/or Nancy Linari?

    Jack yes.... Nancy no

How could the performance have been better?

The good ones perform the book..... this was read for the 1st time by a person with little or no interesting the subject, or understanding. Poor Jack, fine book.... terrible presentation.

Could you see The Gipper being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    Ryan Gosling and Ed Harris

The new question: Ten years after the worldwide bestseller Good to Great, Jim Collins returns to ask: Why do some companies thrive in uncertainty, even chaos, and others do not? In Great by Choice, Collins and his colleague, Morten T. Hansen, enumerate the principles for building a truly great enterprise in unpredictable, tumultuous, and fast-moving times. The new study: Great by Choice distinguishes itself from Collins’s prior work by its focus on the type of unstable environments faced by leaders today.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Professional reader and new content that doesnt repeat

What was most disappointing about Jim Collins and Morten T. Hansen ’s story?

Very little near here except the new coined phases of the triangle

How could the performance have been better?

Collins sounds like he is teaching grade 5 kids his unversity material

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Great by Choice?

    constant repeat of the "triangle"

    Any additional comments?

waste of my time.... although I enjoyed good to great, this is clearly leveraging his reputation from the 1st book. Never again.
