From the locked archives of the Vatican to the overgrown jungles of Ethiopia, an unlikely trio begins a deadly search for the Holy Grail. Two journalists and a beautiful photographer are traveling together in a broken down Jeep while covering the 1975 Ethiopian civil war. Both men fall in love with the woman and that complicates things. When the trio winds up lost in the jungle, in the no man's land between the fighting factions, they take cover and dig in for the night. In their hiding place, they encounter a dying man who tells them an amazing and quite unbelievable story. But for some reason - one that they grapple with for the rest of their journey - that night they believe.

What disappointed you about The Quest?

I could tell it was bad from the beginning when I found out it was an old book dragged out to sucker us Demille lovers into purchasing it. Waste of a credit.

What could Nelson DeMille have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

    Write a new book

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I love Scott Brick so I hated giving this book such a bad rating. He is my favorite reader.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

It got rid of one of my credits so I do not have to worry about using that credit before it expires.

In a scrap heap within an abandoned factory, the greatest invention in history lies dormant and unused. By what fatal error of judgment has its value gone unrecognized, its brilliant inventor punished rather than rewarded for his efforts? In defense of those greatest of human qualities that have made civilization possible, one man sets out to show what would happen to the world if all the heroes of innovation and industry went on strike.

Give it a listen, the writing is incredible and the listening just as good.

Fresh from her bruising battle with a psychopath in Florida, Scarpetta decides it's time for a change of pace. Moving to Charleston, South Carolina, she opens a unique private forensic pathology practice, one in which she and her colleagues, including Pete Marino and her niece, Lucy, offer expert crime-scene investigation and autopsy services to communities lacking local access to competent death investigation and modern technology.

Bernie says: "Time to end the series"
    "Typical Enjoyable"
    Overall

I have read or listened to everyone of Patricia Cornwells books. While this one was not the best it was very typical of her writing and material she has done in the past. I hate to see a couple of bad reviews stop people from listening to this book. I downloaded it the day it came out and finished it in a few days. That is the definition of a good audio book. If you have enjoyed her past books you will enjoy this book.

A body has been found on the overlook near Mulholland Drive. The victim, identified as Dr. Stanley Kent, has two bullet holes in the back of his head, from what looks like an execution-style shooting. LAPD detective Harry Bosch is called out to investigate. As soon as Bosch begins retracing Dr. Kent's steps, contradictions emerge. While Kent doesn't seem to have had ties to organized crime, he did have access to dangerous radioactive substances from just about every hospital in Los Angeles County.

Must have had a deadline. Not a bad book but not up to his usual standards. I am a real fan and you have to listen or read this book but be prepared to be a little let down by the quickness of this read/listen.
