Dedicated to the daughter she never had but sees all around her, Letter to My Daughter reveals Maya Angelou's path to living well and living a life with meaning. Told in her own inimitable style, this book transcends genres and categories: guidebook, memoir, poetry, and pure delight. Here in short spellbinding essays are glimpses of the tumultuous life that led Angelou to an exalted place in American letters and taught her lessons in compassion and fortitude.

When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Honestly, I enjoyed the book...all three of them. Of course, I wasn't expecting it rival Pride and Prejudice or War & Peace. It is a guilty pleasure for the ladies!! It has romance, a complicated relationship, BDSM and a flawed main character.

The narrator's voice didn't bother me. It never even crossed my mind until I saw the negative reviews. Ana’s repeated use of "oh my" and “inner Goddess” did not annoy me. Everyone has their “catch phrases” that they use in excess. These are hers.

My advice, if you're easily offended don't read this book. If you're looking for a beautifully written novel that will inspire you to greatness this isn't it. But if you're looking for a story of romance with a twist these books might be for you.

If you are dealing with this personality type in your life I believe this information can help you understanding some of the confusion & frustration you're undoubtedly feeling. The author begins by discussing different "schemas" (an organized pattern of thought or behavior), then describes several techniques for more effective communication.

Although I definitely think the narration should have been better, the information, at least for me, was valuable.

Comparing Google to an ordinary business is like comparing a rocket to an Edsel. No academic analysis or bystanders account can capture it. Now Doug Edwards, Employee Number 59, offers the first inside view of Google, giving readers a chance to fully experience the bizarre mix of camaraderie and competition at this phenomenal company. I'm Feeling Lucky captures for the first time the unique, self-invented, yet profoundly important culture of the world's most transformative corporation.

A fascinating look into Google, done in an honest and fair way. I don't "talk tech" so there were things that I didn't exactly understand but that never took away from the story. It's easy to see why Google is so popular!

You may think you know the butter-loving, finger-licking, joke-cracking, queen of melt-in-your-mouth Southern cuisine. You may have even heard some version of her Cinderella story: she was a single mom with two teenaged sons when she started a brown-bag lunch business with $200 and wound up with a thriving restaurant business, a fairy-tale second marriage, and wildly popular television shows. But you have never heard the intimate details of her often bumpy road to fame and fortune.

For years, our concept of the self and well-being has been dominated by the notion of self-esteem, while the old fashioned value of willpower has been disparaged by psychologists who argued that we’re largely driven by unconscious forces beyond our control. In Willpower Baumeister and Tierney turn this misinformation on its head to reveal self-control as arguably the single most powerful indicator of success. Baumeister discovered that willpower actually has a physical basis to it....

Covey's book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, has been a top seller for the simple reason that it ignores trends and pop psychology for proven principles of fairness, integrity, honesty, and human dignity. Celebrating its 15th year of helping people solve personal and professional problems, this special anniversary edition includes a new forward and afterword written by Covey that explore whether the 7 Habits are still relevant.

Her website shows illustrations and has tools to get you started.
