I am enjoying this series. They are light reads but not lacking in quality. The author has done a great job and the reader is so good. If your looking for a light read but nothing too intense these are great. They have all the care and development but remain fairly light and totally enjoyable.

I got this on a whim fearing that it would be at best a poor attempt at the trending super natural thing. But, I was grabbed right away and couldn't put it down. I totally enjoyed it. The characters are interesting and well developed. And, it's a great story that continues in the other books. I have since read the three that are currently out and await the next.

I so enjoy these books. It's just the right balance of mystery, humor and a little romance. They are not exactly light reads but, easy reads and just totally enjoyable. The characters are great and K. Kellgren just does a great job of bringing the characters to life. I have read them all and can't wait for the next. Hope her more serious series comes to audible and hope it's just as good.

Frannie Darling was once a child of London's roughest streets, surrounded by petty thieves, pickpockets, and worse. But though she survived this harsh upbringing to become a woman of incomparable beauty, Frannie wants nothing to do with the men who lust for her, the rogues who frequent the gaming hall where she works. She can take care of herself and feels perfectly safe on her own-safe, that is, until he strides into her world, and once again it becomes a very dangerous place indeed.

I wasn't sure I'd like this but, I was looking for a light read. It was a light read but was full bodied so to speak. The characters were fleshed out and the story was full and complete. The author took something that could have been pure fluff and really created a full and entertaining story. I liked the characters. And the reader did an excellent job. She's done other books I've read and she never disappoints.

It seems like an easy assignment for an assertive but sweet woman like Gracie Snow: track down her friend, Bobby Denton, a famous ex-jock, and bring him to Heaven (Texas, that is) to shoot a movie. How could he refuse a glamorous offer like that? Easy....

I found the characters to be weak, and superficial, the women down right whiny and irritating. I have loved all of SEP's books but, this one was painfully boring. The women were such whimps and I expected more from Bobby Tom's story then some whiny and juvenile man.

Jane Darlington is a genius at physics, but there's one problem she can't solve. She yearns for a child, but wants to spare it the pain of growing up as...well, a nerd. And surely any child of Jane's would be a little too brainy for the playground set. So she sets out to find a special man to father her child, someone without too much gray-matter between his ears: in short, a big, strong dope. Cal Bonner, legendary pro quarterback, seems to fit the bill. But there's something Dr. Jane hasn't counted on.

Which character ??? as performed by Anna Fields ??? was your favorite?

I love Anna Fields narrations. She's great. RIP I miss her spot on characterization and she does a good job on this too. If it wasn't for her performance I probably wouldn't have listened this far.

    Any additional comments?

The premise of this book is so silly. I know that SEP had written this type of story before and made it work but this one is painfully stupid so far. Why is she following him around like a patsy and letting him push her around. Please, he can't do damage to her without damaging himself too. I'm almost done with the first half but I will not finish it if it stays this stupid. If he doesn't want to be around her so much then why take her home with his family in the first place. Go to some other place and stay away from each other for a fake honeymoon. And why is she agreeing to go along with it just to be treated badly all day every day. Stupid. She can take care of herself. Catch the next thing smoking back home and go on with your life. Accept that you have to share the kid and move on!

Investigator Drey St. John never dreamed helping the Braddocks discover the truth behind their father's fatal crash would lead to his own mother's shocking confession: Senator Braddock was Drey's biological father. Determined to solve the case, Drey enlisted all-work-and-no-play Charlene Anderson's help. But the more time he spent with the beautiful forensic scientist, the more he realized their sharp banter fronted a simmering mutual attraction that wouldn't be denied.

I enjoyed this listen. And the ethnic voice quality of the reader was a treat. The other 2 by Brenda jackson, however, have readers who you couldn't imagine being black. It's a distracting turn off. The richness of the actual voice quality is not there. Just as only a few male readers make the female's sound right and only a few female readers make the males sound right. It's not the speach pattern, it's the voice quality. But, at least they make their respective characters sound like a male or a female. In most other non- ethnic books that happen to have a latino or black character in them the readers think trying to use some stereo typical speach pattern makes the character ethnic (many non ethnic writers, write these characters that way too.) I appreciate that these readers didn't try to adopt some stereo typical accents or speach pattern. But, wow, the quality and tember of their actual voices is no where near what it would be for the typical black person. So, my mind can't see what I'm reading. I can't get a mental picture. Just as when most people hear radio announcers they get an image of what the person looks like (even if it's completely wrong) my mind can't put these voices on black faces.

I agree with the other reviewer. Could this book get any slower. After 3 hours of reading the woman has basically done nothing. We are stuck in the same home and she's barely done a thing, let alone anything interesting. Though, I think several days apparently have passed. It's like talking about getting up in the morning and getting ready for work and taking 3 hours to describe it. The story has not moved!

When Autobiography of a Yogi first appeared in 1946, it was acclaimed as a landmark work in its field. The New York Times hailed it as "a rare account". Newsweek pronounced it "fascinating". The San Francisco Chronicle declared, "Yogananda presents a convincing case for yoga, and those who 'came to scoff' may remain 'to pray." Today it is still one of the most widely read and respected books ever published on the wisdom of the East.

I read this book years ago and loved it. When I first started listening to it the reader put me off though. It was like it took him some time to get into it. But actually considering the lenght of the book, I thought he was effective and convincing and did a good job after the strangely bland beginning. And the content of the book is very powerful to me.
