This thing was listed under Sci-fi & Fantasy and was recommended to me after purchasing an epic fantasy Scott Lynch's, 2nd book (Red Seas Under Red Skies) WHICH WAS AWESOME. I put it in my wish list after seeing the HUGE positive ratings.
This book is fiction, sci-fi slightly... fantasy... barely. I would have some mature high school students read/listen to this book due to its easy going pace and somewhat interesting story-line. This book is NOT for epic fantasy fans or even hard core sci-fi fans. The narrator was good which is how I was able to get through this book.

Jim Butcher does not disappoint in this installment to what should be considered the greatest urban fantasy series! Harry is beat up, grimy and most of all laughing in the face of death. The story building done in Ghost Story pays MANY dividends in this novel. I'm not one for spoilers so I can only recommend this novel 100% to anyone on the fence!!!

This final part does a wonderful job of wrapping up the journey began with 2 thieves critiquing sloppy highwaymen. There is a decent amount of suspense and the air of ancient history permeates this whole volume. The ending is a bit abrupt and leaves a lot of questions open for future books if the author wishes to revisit this world. **spoiler** stop reading if you are sensitive to spoilers: What happens to the dwarves? What happens to the meer? What is the elven kingdom like? Exactly how many humans survived? Will the elves help remove the goblins from human lands? – There Is definitely room for more books.

This first installment is a HUGE throwback to a more fun and relaxed storytelling method. This is not to say that there isn't sufficient drama, darkness and excitement. I am just saying that this story is brought about in such a way as to be equal parts slap-stick partners meets classic fantasy. It is a VERY enjoyable listen with a talented narrator. Kudos to MJS and I CANNOT wait to hear more!

Lets be honest with each other... Normally the free stuff is TERRIBLE. Either it is too little or just not good. But, this is really the exception!! I loved this 4 hour introduction to the author and to the character. I will be buying the full novels and hoping they live up to the novella intro!

This was a good book and I would recommend it to anyone who is a fan of fantasy or a fan of Card. The story has a feel to it of a fairy tale of old while combining modern life into the mix. The narration was very well done and the book answered just enough to satisfy while there is enough left open to want the next novel. The only problem i had was that the story was short. In all fairness we as readers are getting spoiled by the super novels that are generated these days... Jordan(Sanderson), Rothfus, Martin(when he finishes his books) so it may be my conditioning more that any wrong done by Card.

This was a great story and great addition to the overall storyline !!! John Glover did a wonderful job with this audio book. Come on... He's Lex Luther's dad!
