I was excited to download the latest Coben book. As I started I noted the book shifted around between characters quite frequently, however, I assumed they would be tied together quickly. This never happened for me. I was totally bored and did not finish the book. This is the first book I have downloaded that I failed to finish. Save your credit.
Overly dramatic boring
The whole book

No. I am a long time Tannenbuam fan. This book rambled about Jewish Religion and some ridiculous Terrorist Plot with MOLE PEOPLE??
No, if Tannenbaum sticks to what he does best which is legal drama. If I want a book about Jewish Religion I will buy one. This is the second book in a row that he has tried to feature Karps daughter as a, Hmmm I don't really know what her role is!!! This book took on a ridiculous nature when he shifted over to the terrorism side. Terrorism had no role in this book and Tannenbaum is no Terrorism writer,
Marginal At Best
Stick to what you know best which is Legal Drama. If not, give your fans a break and let them know you will ramble on about Jewish Religion and Terrorism.
The only good thing about this book was the narrators. I have sworn I would not buy Baldacci books but thought I would try this since it was on the Best Sellers List. Absolutely terrible story with about 50% of the book filler.
No just Baldacci
Both are excellent and although they tried, they could not save this rambling story.
The detail depth of the North Korean lady assassin.
This book had two stories and never intersected. I found it boring and although I finished, it was tough to get through. I will not buy Baldacci again. His style rambles too much for my taste.
I could not finish the book. It had the makings of an interesting book but Scott Brick totally ruined it. His narration ends every sentence as a dramatic statement. Every sentence is whispered. His ability to alter voices is non existence.
Choose anyone other than Scott Brick as the narrator.
Scott Brick must learn to read a book and let it flow. Believe it or not a statement such as "The Sun Was Shining" does not need a dramatic upturn at the end. It also does not require reading in a whispered voice. This guy is awful and I will never download another book read by Scott Brick.
Fire Scott Brick
Baldacci seems to have problems getting into his story. 2/3 of the way through the book he is still identifying new characters. My last Baldacci book.
Anything but Baldacci
Yes. Orlagh Cassidy was terrific and Ron McLarty was steady.
A new twist for the Prey books in that it featured more intrigue rather than the normal chop em up/cut em up storylines.
Absolutely. This was definitely a "can't stop listening" book.
Ferrone is one of the best. He seamlessly shifts between characters and makes each entertaining.
I think discovering that Kidd and Lauren were not what they appeared to be.
This is one of the best by John Sandford. I have always thought the Prey books were just so so and enjoyed the Virgil Flowers books much more. This book however, has made we impatient for the next Prey book.
One of the best.
John Corey and his humor. I can see Kate Mayfield rolling her eyes after some of his off the wall comments.
Scott Brick has great ability to alter his voice, however, he tries to put too much drama into his voice during normal presentation of conversations. Irritating.
Anxious during some of the battle scenes.
I don't know if this was a book about the history of the Federal Reserve but it certainly wasn't a book about the terrorist threats that we normally find Scott Horvath in. Thor seems to go in cycles, good book......bad book. This was definitely, in my opinion, a bad book.
Doesn't Change Voice
None were interesting.
I Shoulda Readit
All the authors books are very similar
Anyone, although if he would develop a different voice and tone for Cepak he wouldn't be so bad. Cepak sounds robotic and Danny sounds like a woosh.
I did not read the print version but the audible version was an excellent listen.
Horvath is an excellent character and easy to root for.
He brings a "patience" to his reading. He very patiently lays out each character and brings them to life.
I was thoroughly pleased with the book.
I could not get into this book at all. The story seemed interesting but the narrator was terrible. He seemed to end each sentence in a whisper as if he were reading the book to someone who was trying to doze off for the night. He was entirely too dramatic with every sentence. The narration completely spoiled this book and I did not finish it.
Picked a different narrator
I have listened to Brick before but this seemed to be completely different. Not a good listen at all.
