This book captivated me from the start. When I recognize great writing and a great story I feel like I am using my spare time to good purpose. Set in 1699 this is an historic novel with graphic realism. Not knowing the author I did now know how the ending would work out. I now have the sequel ready to download.

A dazzling tour of the universe as Einstein saw it. How did Albert Einstein come up with the theories that changed the way we look at the world? By thinking in pictures. Michio Kaku, leading theoretical physicist (a cofounder of string theory) and best-selling science storyteller, shows how Einstein used seemingly simple images to lead a revolution in science. With originality and expertise, Kaku uncovers the surprising beauty that lies at the heart of Einstein's cosmos

If your a genius theoretical physicist you might understand most of this book. If you could not understand half of it like me you might still wish to listen and enjoy it. The science and math explanations were completely over my head. However listening to them was important. It made me realize how brilliant this man was in a time when computers were not in existent. This is a biography of one of the greatest individuals in history. Not just a mega genius but an approachable funny likeable man whose theories have changed and are still changing the world. Listen to this book!

New York Times best-selling author Jim Harrison is one of America's most beloved writers, and of all his creations, Brown Dog - a bawdy, reckless, down-on-his-luck Michigan Indian - has earned cult status with readers in the more than two decades since his first appearance. For the first time, Brown Dog gathers all the Brown Dog novellas, including one never before published, into one volume - the ideal introduction (or reintroduction) to Harrison's irresistible Everyman.

Jim Harrison is one of the best writers I have ever listened to. Brown Dog will forever be in my memory as one of the most unique individuals ever created in literature. How a writer could create such a detailed three dimensional character as BD is nothing short of genius. This is also a wonderfully engaging book with many unique characters, both human and animal, and upstate Michigan rural adventure. Lots of trout fishing, hunting and bawdy sex. Listen to this book!!!

Jamie O’Neill is back on Earth, where no one but his best friend Ramsay knows he’s the hero of a great war that saved an alien nation. Now he’s back to being a kid with one arm, no girlfriend, and a band that plays bad songs about intergalactic romance. Then news breaks on the Internet: a space probe has picked up a coded message from far across the galaxy. NASA’s best scientists can’t figure out what it says. Only Jamie and Ramsay realize it’s a message from Altair. They’re needed again.

I love Adrian McKinty's writing. His Dead novels are among my favorites. I think he is a little out of his element writing a semi young adult SF series. Doyle is a great narrator and the book as a whole was entertaining. I will be finishing the series but hope McKinty goes back to his forte.

Fight Club lets ordinary men vent their suppressed rage, and it quickly develops a fanatical following.

This book is different. Weird book about weird people. I saw and enjoyed the movie and thought I would give the book a try. Could not finish. I guess the movie did not dwell so much on the well (physically that is) people enjoying going to meetings for people with rare terminal diseases and pretending to be one of them. Colby was a good narrator.

This book gives an Australian perspective with regards to the war in Papua New Guinea and the unbelievable courage by the Australians under unbelievable hardships. The Australian soldiers being needlessly sacrificed by the ignorance and ineptitude of generals MacArthur and Blamey was unforgivable. Very well researched and narrated.
