Probably have nightmares giving this five stars. This is a very long pure low rent pulp fiction novel filled with corny cliches that make you cringe. Why five stars? For me it did exactly what, I hope, the author intended, It entertained me. I loved the listen and even came to expect and enjoy the cheesy cliches and over the top story line. Not sure how Correia found a publisher with enough foresite (and guts?) to publish these novels but I am glad he did.
I was not expecting the setting of this story. Had I known it was the autobiography of a dog with a not especially exciting life I probably would have passed. That would have been my misfortune. This was a wonderful book! Well written and very entertaining. If you are an animal lover especially a dog lover, I highly recommend this book.
This is a well written well researched book that is very entertaining. The many characters are well developed and the narration is very well done. I only wish Tom McNab had more books on Audible.
The fact that Rowling wrote this book got me to listen to it. Very happy I did because it was great read. Great mystery well written and with a great narration. Only similarity between Cuckoo and Harry was the superb writing. Hope to hear more from Ms. Robert Galbraith.
This was a very good detective mystery however I believe it ended with a whimper. Could have wrapped up all the personal issues much quicker after the plot was wrapped up. Narration was very good and overall the story very entertaining and original. Will probably listen to another book by Tana French.
This book kept me interested with good writing and nice character development. Did not wow me with plot and sometimes got a little corny such as the blimp's subliminal messages.
Great series not only a well written book but complimented by a great narrator in Tim Reynolds.
Still love these books even after listening to eight. The Wake is one of the best in the series, never getting slow and keeping the action going.
Great series! Will be purchasing The Riyria Chronicles. A shame this followup series is half the listening time as Revelations. Tim Gerard Reynolds is a great narrator. Not sure if the series or the narration was the most impressive.
Loved Game of Thrones at first but it seemed to get increasingly violent and sadistic for no literary purpose other than to shock the readers.
This book is not as well written or as deep but is very entertaining with plenty of action. Sullivan does not try to shock and horrify but entertain. More a PG where Game is an R or X. The narrator was spot on and added to the enjoyable listen.
This well researched book sheds a lot of light on Scientology. Featuring L. Ron Hubbard and the many others involved in shaping Scientology into what it is today. Everyone even mildly interested in this movement or the characters involved with it should read this book. I was just mildly curious at the start but was shocked at how random events, and less than stable founders could come together and form an almost religion with thousands maybe millions of members and worth billions of dollars.
Read, or listen to, this book!!!
