This was a hit from begining to end. The story was well narrated, clear and easy to follow. My two children, aged 5 and 8, were riveted, and so was I!

I loved this book, a real English countryside detective novel. It is sensitively written and subtle, with events slowly but surely overtaking the main characters. I don't want to give away the story, but if you enjoy Agatha Christie, Margery Allingham, or the other detective novels written in the same era, you will love this one. I will definitely explore this author further.
This book was beautifully read. Every character was distinct, and I never felt muddled as to who is speaking. There is a world of difference between performances and this one for me was top shelf - you are able to forget the speaker completely and immerse yourself in the story.

I loved this dramatised version of the book.I especially loved Piglet, who has such a very small voice to match such a very small animal! I also loved Kanga, with her australian accent.

The story is well-read and dramatised, but the chapters repeat themselves, and are not in the right order so you can't follow the story. There is something very wrong and mixed up here, which spoiled the whole experiance for me and my children. Story 3 is the same as story 7, and at least 2 other stories are also repeated and out of order.

Thoroughly enjoyed it, but wish it was not abridged. Really fun Georgette Heyer - with the added irony of the heroine being a writer.

I normally love Heyer's novels, but I find her historical books quite tedious. This one is no exception, and I struggled to get through it. It is well narrated, but that cannot make up for the fact that everything happends really slowly. It deals with Charles II and his escape from England, it takes him an entire book to escape. Perhaps if I was more conversant with history around this event, I would have enjoyed the book more, but I feel that a good historical novel shouldn't rely on the reader's previous knowledge.

This book is wonderful, and it was very well narrated and easy to follow, even for my 5-year old troublemaker. After seeing it on film, in various productions, hearing it again in its unabridged format brought back to me the whole story, in all the richness of detail that no movie can portray. I think this book is particularly suitable in Audible format.

While these stories are classic, I found that they were not so easy for my children (5 & 8) to follow in Audible format. There are a lot of unfamiliar words, and many of the stories would be better with illustrations. This is the one book that should be read and not just listened to.

This was not my favourite Heyer. It lacked humour and spice, and the plot was somehow reminiscent of "Gone with the Wind", although that might have been just my perception.The ending was also a bit flat, as if the story just petered out. I found the narrator good, and learnt the correct pronounciation of more than one word! Despite that, the book was a little bit tedious, and I found my attention wandering.
