After 20 years in Britain, Bryson returned to the U.S. and decided to reacquaint himself with his native country by walking the 2,100-mile Appalachian Trail, which stretches from Georgia to Maine. This is his humorous, inspiring account.

Jeff says: "Wonderful book, but hardly abridged"
    "Bad language"
    Overall

I've hiked a few portions of the AT and thought this would be a good read. I was disappointed by the bad language used and the author's apparent disrepect of others with different views (even though some of it was his humor I didn't appreciate it).

  • Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking

    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 43 mins)

In his landmark best seller The Tipping Point, Malcolm Gladwell redefined how we understand the world around us. Now, in Blink, he revolutionizes the way we understand the world within. Blink is a book about how we think without thinking, about choices that seem to be made in an instant, in the blink of an eye, that actually aren't as simple as they seem. Why are some people brilliant decision makers, while others are consistently inept?

    Liz says: "encore!"
    "Very informative"
    Overall

This book answered questions I've long thought about on the topic of the subconscience. There are varied topics in the different chapters with research cited that had been done to back it up. There was one chapter where I was wondering why he had spent so much focus on the background story rather than on the subject. Overall, I thought this was an excellent book.
