Dishonorably discharged, former Navy SEAL Shane Laughlin is down to his last ten bucks when he finally finds work as a test subject at the Obermeyer Institute, a little-known and believed-to-be-fringe scientific research facility. When he enters the OI compound, he is plunged into a strange world where seemingly mild-mannered scientists - including women half his size - can kick his highly skilled ass.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would definitely recommend this book - there was a lot going on. 3 separate romances, trying to figure out a new "world". I am not usually a fan of sci-fi but I really enjoyed this book and was disappointed when it ended - because it totally left us hanging and somewhat confused.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the vulnerability of the characters

    Which scene was your favorite?

Can't really say without giving away too much

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Are you Greater than.........

    Any additional comments?

Hated the ending - it just left you hanging. I realize there will probably be a sequel but I like the first book to actually have an ending. This had a to be continued.

In the wild, when a wolf knows its time is over, when it knows it is of no more use to its pack, it may sometimes choose to slip away. Dying apart from its family, it stays proud and true to its nature. Humans aren’t so lucky. Luke Warren has spent his life researching wolves. He has written about them, studied their habits intensively, and even lived with them for extended periods of time.

What made the experience of listening to Lone Wolf the most enjoyable?

Learning about wolf culture was very, very interesting - however I felt like this story has been done before. The right to die - quality of life.....

What did you like best about this story?

As always, I love the complexity of the characters Jodi writes.

What about the narrators???s performance did you like?

I love that Jodi writes in different voices - and the audio version uses different narrators to speak those parts. It makes it very enjoyable to listen to.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reactions, I felt this story has been done many times. I didn't laugh or cry.

    Any additional comments?

Jodi Piccoult remains one of my favorite authors but I felt like this book was recycled and the wolf story line just added to a right to die plot.

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

"The book I mark all others against"
    Overall

This series, for if you read this first book, you will read the entire series, is the bar I set all other characters against. I feel I know Claire and Jamie. I miss them when the book ends. Diana makes me feel so many emotions when I read her books the scenes are so very real. This is not a "standard" happy ending romance - it is so much more. The characters have happiness but also tremendous sadness and trials.
I must admit the first maybe 2 chapters I was not committed but once I got past that - wow! It is truly a gift Diana Gabaldon has to transform words into emotions and memories. I have listened to each of her books 2x and still havenot listened to an Echo in the Bone - the last book - which I purchased the day it was released. WHY??? because I don't want to lose Claire and Jamie.
