Yes. It is a great story and I love the series.
The narrator had too old of a voice for the character. Her voice was also to raspy for what is supposed to be a young character. Her actual performance was great but just wrong for the character.
Chole is working at Ryan Media group as an intern to finish up her degree. She is smart and very qualified for the job. The only problem is her bastard of a boss who is yelling at her and disapproving. Bennet Ryan is hard on Chole not because she is incomptent but because he finds her smart and sassy and it makes him attracted to her. It seems like they never get along until one meeting were they take their relationship to the next level and the sparks fly.
I really like this story. It was better then most of the boss/intern relationships that are popular these days. I relly liked Bennet and liked the dynamic between him and Chole. I didn't like Chole as much because she was a little wishy washy and I can't stand that. I am looking forward the rest of the series!
Sin is an incubus and semenus demon who has started a virus through the wharg community. She is wanted dead by them as well as by her assains that she leads. Sin has been a slave before and the last thing she wants is ever to be owned again. Con is a dhampire and has been affected by the virus Sin has let loose. The only cure for him is to drink Sin's blood. The problem is in ordered to be cured he will become addicted to her and make her a slave again. Sin and Con are stuck together as whargs and assains are trying to kill them.
This book was ok for me. I am glad I finally finished this series. I liked it a lot. Although I should have stuck to reading the book instead of listening to it on audio book. I did not really like the narrator that much.
Marcus Sullivan is the oldest of the Sullivan clan. He has spent his life helping his mother take care of the rest of his siblings after the death of his father. Marcus always puts their needs before his own. After leaving his brother's engagement party he goes to visit his girlfriend only to find her in bed with another man. He always thought they would get married even if he didn't really love her. So Marcus finds himself at a club wanting to find someone new just to sleep with with no strings attached.
Nicola or Niko as all her fans know her is a world famous pop star on the brink of just making it. She is in San Francisco to record her new music video. She finds herself locked up and lonely in her hotel room trying to shy away from her fame and being used in the past. She realizes that she can't hide forever and goes out to have a night of fun with a stranger. She finds Marcus, who doesn't know who she is since he is older. He is immediately captured with her beauty and they decide to spend just one night together. Only they can't seem to keep apart and one night turns into many more.
I forgot how much I loved this series. First of all I love that it is based out of my hometown of San Francisco! Secondly I love the whole Sullivan clan and all of their dynamics. It is great to have a story about a loving caring family and how having that develops all the different characters to their own unique set of traits. I loved Marcus and was happy he finally got is happily ever after. Looking forward to listening to the next book in the series!
Olivia is going to school and working in order to get her Accounting degree to go back to her family farm to help run it with her father. Olivia has moved into her wealthy cousins house Marissa, who is a spoiled brat and is unhappy having Olivia in her space. Olivia is out at a club one night celebrating her friends bachelorette when under embarrassing circumstances she meets the bar owner Cash. The next morning Olivia wakes up to find Cash in the kitchen kissing her roommate Marissa. Only to find out that Cash is a identical twin and the one kissing Marissa is actually Nash. Cash is the bad boy and Nash is the good guy. Olivia starts developing feelings for them both. While she is drawn to Cash with her heart her head says she should be with Nash because he is the better guy only to find out that there is a secret they are hiding.
I listened to this book on audio and I enjoyed it. I felt like the story was really getting going as it ended and I am looking forward to listening to the second book in the series to see how things go between Olivia and the brothers. I liked the characters but am hoping to get more in depth with them in the next book as well. The narrators were ok but not the best that I have heard.
I give this story 3 stars.
This is the story of Sydney who has left her home in New Jersey to go to college in Texas. She has left her family behind because she was the victim of a tragedy but nobody believed her so she left her family never to be heard from again. She has a scholarship from her current university and is working as a teacher's assistant to help her with tuition. She agrees to go on a double blind date with her roommate but when she arrives at the restaurant early she mistakenly sits down with a handsome guy who isn't her date. Well when she finds the right date it doesn't end so well and in the midst of leaving Sydney runs into the guy from before. She ends up taking him home and in the midst of making out he freaks out and tells her to go home. The next day she is embarrassed but thinks she will be fine because she will never see him again. Only when she gets to class it turns out that the guy from last night, Peter ends up being her new teacher.
I am still on the fence on whether or not I like this story. In some regards it was good others not so much. First of all I listened to this as an audio book and I did not like the narrator at all. Her voice was that of a used cars salesman. She was trying to portray a woman who has a dark past but the inflection in her voice just made it sound fake and trying to be cheerful. It didn't work for me. I liked the story between Peter and Sydney but where I thought it would be a little more emotional I felt like it was high school students but they were in college and they couldn't get through their feelings. Plus even though they end up in love by the end of the story they never actually have sex and it just seems odd to me. Oh also the big secretive past that both Peter and Sydney have taken too long to reveal and then we never actually hear the whole story from Peter. So I thought this story was going to be on par with some of the other stories I have read but it was sorely lacking. I am still going to suffer through the second book in this series and hope that it is better than the first one.
I give this book 2.5 stars.
The second story in this series continues with another adventure from the only living Druid living, Atticus O'Sullivan. After defeating Angus in the last story the land of the fey is in turmoil since there is no leader. All the different types of fey plus the paranormal (witches, vampires and werewolves) are trying to gain power. Atticus is going on with his business when suddenly he is attacked magically by powerful witches that remain to be unseen. They try to kill him but are unsuccessful due to his strong Iron Druid magic. So while he is looking for witches he is dodging demons and goddesses and police officers and falling angels in order to stop the old enemies from trying to kill him. With the help of his friends his dog Oberon, the widow, his apprentice Granuwail, Laksha and the Madgen he manages to face off with his enemies from years back.
I listened to this book audio book and I really like the narrator. The story itself was ok but I don't know if this series is one of my favorites. It is entertaining and has some fun and funny moments at times but most of the time I tuned out. I do really like Atticus and his dog Oberon. Oberon is really funny and I like that we get to hear what he is saying. I also like the fact that when Atticus is faced with a pretty woman he starts reciting baseball facts in his head so he is not distracted with what he is trying to do. It is really funny. I am going to continue with this series due to the entertainment and funny scenarios that Atticus keeps finding himself in. I am looking forward to the next adventure.
I give this story a solid 3 stars.
Brooke Dumas is a athlete rehab specialist who used to be a former athlete herself. She was on her way to being an Omplyian when she broke her knee during the trials. She lost her dream and has been lost ever since. One night her best friend invites her to an underground fighting match where she gets her first glimpse of Remington "Riptide" Tate. He is a goregous, sexy, dominant guy who she is instantly attracted to. There is this chemistry that sparks between the two of them from just one look across the ring. Little does Brooke know that the one look would transform her life forever.
I liked this story but I am only giving it 3.5 stars because I felt Brooke could be a little whiny and selfish at times. The fact that she falls in love with Remington and you don't really even hear him say much until halfway through the book. Remington has issues and wants to take their relationship slowly but Brooke gets pushy and then gets hurt later down the road. I felt that I knew Brooke really well but not Remington. I am looking forward to continuing this series to see how everything works out between them. I listened to this on audio book and I liked the narrator.
I give this story 3.5 stars.
Elise Martin has come to Chicago from France to complete her culinary training by working under the chef at the restaurant Fusion. Elise is a well-known heiress in France and is known for her party girl ways, which are mostly false. She has been cut off from her family financially because she decides she does not want to marry the man her family has picked out for her. So she has trained to be a chef to put the party girl away and be taken seriously. Little does she know but the owner of Fusion is a man from her past that has had her heart from since she was a child, Lucien Lenault.
Lucien has run from his family shame from France to Chicago to make a new name for himself. He is trying to learn about his past and using a man by the name of Ian Noble to get the answers he is looking for. It has been a long process but Lucien feels like the timing is never right and goes about his business and his friendship with Ian until he can get what he is looking for. What he doesn't expect is for Elise to come crashing into his life and potentially spill the secrets of his past that he has been covering up. The way to keep her quiet is to keep a tight rein on her by having her in his bed and submitting to him completely.
I enjoyed this book but I think I might have enjoyed it a little more if I had read it instead of listened to it on audio book. The narrator was a French woman and it put off the whole story because it was hard to understand sometimes with the accent. It would have been better if the narrator was English and did French accents for when the characters spoke. I did like Lucien a lot and it seemed that he was definitely an alpha male. The only thing I didn't like was that when Elise pulled one of her party girl stunts or acted out he gave into her demands too easily. Elise bothered me because she was a spoiled rich girl who did outrageous stunts to get her way. Characters like that I don't care for and sometimes is hard for me to read. Also this story was erotica/BDSM but it was very soft BDSM and although I have read some very extreme BDSM this story seemed to miss the mark on that theme.
Overall I give it 3.5 stars.
This series keeps getting better and better with each book! This one made me cry and it was harder to get through but I loved in the end! A series about real life and the struggles and good things people go through! I love it!
This series started off a little slow but it gets better with each book. I love hearing about the whole town everytime. It makes me want to live in Virgin River!
