Rand al'Thor, the Dragon Reborn, struggles to unite a fractured network of kingdoms and alliances in preparation for the Last Battle. As he attempts to halt the Seanchan encroachment northward - wishing he could form at least a temporary truce with the invaders - his allies watch in terror the shadow that seems to be growing within the heart of the Dragon Reborn himself.

"Brandon Sanderson was an excelent choice."
    Overall

This installment of the "Wheel of Time" is excellent and possibly the best of the series to date. It is fast paced and full of excitement. Several of the major sub plots are resolved. The book ends at what feels to be a good place to split the story into another book. Reading this I was glad Brandon Sanderson did not try to compress the rest of the story into one book. This Book was much more gripping than the last several installments of the series. I believe this is due to several factors including that the end of the story is approaching and its time to start resolving issues. Also Brandon Sanderson appears to be a very good writer, though he was lucky in where he was able to pick up the story. Though the last several installments were less satisfying than we could wish I do believe they were necessary to get us to this point and that Robert Jordan would have made this installment just as satisfying if from a slightly different perspective.

With all that said I Thank Brandon Sanderson for doing a wonderful job and ask him to try to do as well on the last two installments. I know this will be more difficult because he has less pre written material to work with. So I wish him good luck.

John Matthew has come a long way since he was found living among humans, his vampire nature unknown. Taken in by The Brotherhood, no one could guess what his true history was-or his true identity. Xhex has long steeled herself against the attraction to John Matthew. Until fate intervenes and she discovers that love, like destiny, is inevitable.

"I could do with less gay perspectives."
    Overall

For the most part I loved the book. What I didn’t enjoy was the constant switches to gay point of views. When I read a romance I don’t care to read or listen to a romance between guys. In the books prior it wasn’t so bad. But half this book seemed to be about the relationship between John's two best friends. It was just to much. So since I am not into gay romances I took two stars off the rating.

    A User says: "Bad experience"
"This Audio is only a summery of book."
    Overall

This reading is clasified as "abridged". The full length unabridged reading of this book is 43 hrs long. How do you condence 43 hrs into less than 3 hrs. The reading is extreamly difficult to follow. This reading is so chopped up I would not even aword it the title "Abridged". It is only a summery of some of the events that take place in the book. My recomendation is to wait for the unabridged reading to come out on audible, or if you are impatient go to www.booksontape.com and order it there if you dont mind paying to much for it.

    Overall

How can anybody chop 25 hrs of audio down to 3 hrs. I have the unabridged version on tape and it was great. I listened to it several times. abridged stands for garbage. All this version has is a tiny piece of the story from here and there in the book and is impossible to track if you have not read the book. Whoever abridged this masequered the story.
