I can't listen to this book for any length of time. It should be illegal to listen to this while driving. It will put you to sleep. The narration is monotone. The content is mediocre. It seems that rather than a biography on JFK it is a history of the events during his presidency. You do not get much of a feel for who JFK was or how he made his decisions. You simply get a history lesson. One of the worst books and biographies I have read. This is in stark contrast to this Rise of Theodore Roosevelt, which I just completed. It has excellent narration and you feel like you now Roosevelt.
Harry S. Truman did not climb his way to the top he was elevated there because of his honesty, hard work, and highest moral character. Excellent book. It was so good it left me wanting for more detail. Perhaps I would have preferred an unabridged version. I would like to have learned more about the thoughts behind his decisions. There are clips of real Truman speeches. Hearing these speeches really seemed to complete the picture of Truman. It is very refreshing to read about such a modest man reaching the pinnacle of power. I recommend it.
Excellent. This book is far superior to Theodore Rex. The narrator does a terrific job. The audio book is fast paced and very interesting. I definitely recommend it.
