America is in the thrall of a full-scale socioeconomic breakdown. The stock market plummets, hyperinflation destroys the value of the dollar, and the population, unprepared for hardship, panics. Practically overnight, the high technology infrastructure and chains of supply collapse and wholesale rioting and looting grip every city. Law enforcement, transportation, electricity, fuel, and medical supplies are all in the past now, as the country staggers beneath its own weight.

I hate to have to write this, cause i LOVED patriots.

    This just wasnt very good.

I get it that James Wesley values faith very very highly, and Patriots made that clear. But all his heroes have to spend as much time praying, as 'doing'.

Also, in Patriots, you really liked the attention to detail that Wesley gave to his survivors.

The attention to detail Wesley gives to his characters in Survivors is painful. He seems to need to use as many words as possible to create length, and not to move the story.

Also, he bounces around between his survivors but never really has any of them do much.

In short, again, sorry to say...Survivors is boring.

We live in complicated, dangerous times. They are also hyper-technical times. As citizens who will elect future presidents of the most powerful and influential world, we need to know - truly understand, not just rely on television's talking heads - if Iran's nascent nuclear capability is a genuine threat to the West, if biochemical weapons are likely to be developed by terrorists, if there are viable alternatives to fossil fuels that should be nurtured and supported by the government, if nuclear power should be encouraged, and if global warming is actually happening.

The Star Kingdom's ally Erewhon is growing increasingly restive in the alliance because the new High Ridge regime ignores its needs. Add to that the longstanding problem of a slave labor planet controlled by hostile Mesans in Erewhon's stellar back yard, a problem which High Ridge also ignores.

1st mistake: They didn't use Allyson Johnson as they had for all the honor harrington books so the pronounciation changed for many of the names as well as the personality of the characters.

2nd mistake: The narrator has such a big change between when he's projecting and reading normally and when he's speaking softly that I had to constantly amp up the volume of my ipod.

If you enjoyed Honor Harrington stuff...dont download this audiobook.
