Two dead bodies changed the course of my life that fall. One of them I knew and the other I'd never laid eyes on until I saw him in the morgue. The first was a local PI of suspect reputation. He'd been gunned down near the beach at Santa Teresa. It looked like a robbery gone bad. The other was on the beach six weeks later. He'd been sleeping rough. Probably homeless. No identification. A slip of paper with Millhone's name and number was in his pants pocket. The coroner asked her to come to the morgue to see if she could ID him.

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

I have always loved SG's book but this was painfully slow. And Kinsey's lack of a spine is annoying. Have read or listened to all the Alphabet books but this is the last I'm buying. Could listen to Judy Kaye forever, though.

What was most disappointing about Sue Grafton’s story?

Slow development. Uninteresting characters. Sue being taken advantage of w/o question.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Can't think of any. Difficult to finish.

    Any additional comments?

Sorry, really looked forward to this but disappointed.

The school year is almost over. Anxious families await word of college acceptances. In these last pressure-cooker months of high school, some kids will make the all-too-common and all-too-dangerous mistake of drinking and driving. But Myron is determined to help keep his friends' children safe, so he makes two neighborhood girls promise him: If they are ever in a bind but are afraid to call their parents, they must call him.

Robert E. Scarcelle says: "Weak Effort"
"Great book. Wouldn't recommend due to narrator."
    Overall

I didn't know who was narrating until the closing remarks. Then it made sense why he was reading. Could barely finish the book even though Mr Coben is one of my very favorite authors. I finally got used to the straight narration but he really missed the wise cracking Myron and Winn was unbearable. Sorry but let others narrate.

At the end of the last century, Johnstown, Pennsylvania, was a booming coal-and-steel town filled with hardworking families striving for a piece of the nation's burgeoning industrial prosperity. In the mountains above Johnstown, an old earth dam had been hastily rebuilt to create a lake for an exclusive summer resort patronized by the tycoons of that same industrial prosperity, among them Andrew Carnegie, Henry Clay Frick, and Andrew Mellon.

Very engaging. Good human interest. I had no idea of the magnitude of this event. Couldn't put it down.

This adventure transports Amelia Peabody and her husband Emerson to Amarna, the rustic desert site where the two archaeologists first met, beginning the 13-year association that would take them from mayhem to murder in the Egyptian outback.

    "Great entertainment"

I have been listening to the Amelia Peabody series in order, a couple Vicki Bliss, and 3 others of E. Peters and so far like this the best. Great narration and interesting twist in the middle. Kept me listening.

It was a dream come true. Susan loved all things Scottish. So, when the opportunity presented itself, there was no question in her mind that she would go on the archaeological dig in the Highlands.

I found this to be an action-packed tale and thoroughly enjoyed the narrator. I have been listening to the Amelia Peabody-Emerson books and while interesting, they have very similar plots and not a great deal of action. This was a nice change. Characters w/ a sense of humor even more witty than the above mentioned series.
