"Comfort Food for the Romantic Soul"
This is a book that I have read multiple times I love it so much. When I saw it had been made into an audio book, I just had to get it. I realize that this is not a new book as it was published in 1991 and maybe it is dated to some people but to me it is timeless. When the book opens, it takes place in the American West and it may leave you wondering how it gets to England. Just hang on a little longer, it gets there is a really fun way. I know if you're a sucker for historical romance like I am, you'll love this one.
Also, I think Susan Duerden does a great job narrating and I have loved her voices in multiple books I have purchased. She even captures the male voices really well and is very convincing. Very credit worthy book but remember it is a book that was first published 20 years ago.
"Horses and cowboys, how can you go wrong?"
Very cute, very nice story. There are some dark sides to be sure but overall a very good yarn. This is a contemporary romance and after the character struggle that we all know and love in romance, a happily ever after. I recommend it, especially if you are looking for something a little lighter.
"Outstanding Eloisa James!"
Wonderful performance and story. The absolute best in romance. I laughed and cried listening to this book and Susan Duerden's narration was phenomenal. I have listened to this book multiple times especially when I am feeling a little blue and never fails to cheer me up.
"Surprisingly Sweet!"
Hey sometimes you feel like junk food!! This is one of those books, but it is also a very enjoyable listen. I'm certainly getting the next book in the series just to see what happens. Karen White did a fine job narrating so I have no trouble listening to her and the characters are very likable. I'd certainly love to work in the vet hospital in the story. Sounds like a lot of fun!
"Good Story, Great Narration"
Anna Fields makes the story. Her character voices are wonderful and she nails the personality of each character to totally enchant the listener. I liked the story too, don't get me wrong because it was entertaining and of course, romantic. But Anna Fields has to be given her due, without her, the story might not have been as entertaining.
"Dated."
Didn't like this one very much. I love SEP but this one was written before enlightenment of treatment of children/women. Sorry about that.
"An Angel with a Scottish Brogue - Oh boy!!!"
I loved this one. Mr. Jackson's portrayal is outstanding! The angel Gabriel can deliver a message to me anytime!
"Dream Angels!"
This is the first book of a great paranormal romance series. The narration is outstanding and I absolutely love Mr. Jackson's voice. I have already purchased the rest of the series and look forward to listening to them.
"Emotional, Wonderful!!"
This is a fantastic listening experience. Susan Elizabeth Phillips really delivers in the contemporary romance genre. I have listened and read hundreds of romance books over the years and have found none better. I know when I finish this series, I will miss the Chicago Stars and will have to return to be a fan once again. Also, Anna Fields is one of the best narrators for Audible. She captures the dialog of the characters succinctly and you will become engrossed in the story and become part of it. The story is so touching that I know that you will enjoy it too. Don't hesitate on spending your precious credit here.
"Love this series!"
Sometimes it is difficult to let characters go after reading books. I so love series books because the stories continue and the characters lives grow just like in life. Robyn Carr's books are the best of all worlds. The characters grow and develop and Virgin River is place I'd like to live.
