If you could sum up My Mother Was Nuts in three words, what would they be?

    A MUST READ!!

What did you like best about this story?

Penny Marshall is fantastic and very funny!! I loved her voice, her story and her sense of humor!!

    Which scene was your favorite?

My favorite part of her book is the intro with the ninjas! Truely gives you a glimpse into her personality and her life in this book. VERY FUNNY!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I listened to this book with my girlfriend who is in her early 50's. She breezed through this one faster than I due to free time etc...but this is a great one to listen to in 1 sitting if you have the time.

    Any additional comments?

Seriously, if you are over 45 years old and remember Laverne and Shirley, if you like SNL, you will LOVE this book!!!!

There are two supreme predators on the planet with the most complex brains in nature: humans and orcas. In the 20th century alone, one of these animals killed 200 million members of its own species, the other killed none. Jeffrey Masson’s fascinating new book begins here: There is something different about us. In Beasts he demonstrates that the violence we perceive in the "wild" is mostly a matter of projection. We link the basest human behavior to animals, to "beasts" ("he behaved no better than a beast"), and claim the high ground for our species.

Fascinating culmination of comparative human/animal data. A MUST listen for all interested in altruism and a multi-species comparative beginning with a true and riveting story of a crocodile attack leading us to question humans as prey.
I have listened to this audio twice and strongly recommend it for all above age 12.
Parents this is a fantastic, thought provoking and educational listen for the whole family!!

Each day we face a barrage of images and messages from society and the media telling us who, what, and how we should be. We are led to believe that if we could only look perfect and lead perfect lives, we'd no longer feel inadequate. So most of us perform, please, and perfect, all the while thinking, What if I can't keep all of these balls in the air? Why isn't everyone else working harder and living up to my expectations? What will people think if I fail or give up? When can I stop proving myself?

But he was the herd's last chance of survival: they would be killed if he wouldn't take them. In order to save their lives, Anthony took them in. In the years that followed he became a part of their family. And as he battled to create a bond with the elephants, he came to realize that they had a great deal to teach him about life, loyalty, and freedom.

  • The Synchronicity Key: The Hidden Intelligence Guiding the Universe and You

Using history, astrology, and synchronicity theory as well as concepts such as fractals, spiritual geometry, quantum physics, and other new research, Wilcock shows that there is a hidden architecture within time, guiding individuals and nations through a system of enlightenment Joseph Campbell called the Hero’s Journey. Historical events occur in shockingly precise, repeating cycles of time as a result. Once we understand and identify the hidden laws governing the fates of individuals and nations through seemingly random "synchronicity", we are left with a remarkable blueprint of how best to lead our lives in this uncertain and confusing world.

I really enjoyed the super fascinating information complied in Wilcock's earlier published book, The Source Field Investigations. I have listened to the book numerous times and still find new information that intrigues me. Favorite parts- Baxter and all of chapter 8!

This book, The Synchronicity Key is also full of facts and interesting perspectives to ponder, however you will want to skip the entire 1st chapter. I almost gave up on the book during this unexpected beginning. From chapter 2 to the very end, I was continually intrigued and will listen to sections of this book again as it is a lot of information to process in one long sitting.

    Enjoy!

    Story

This is one of my favorite books from years ago and when I heard it for the first time just recently on audible I fell in love with it all over again. The adventure starts here in the states and takes you on a spiritual adventure through the jungles and forests of central and South America. This story is great for young readers who like adventure stories that keep you pinned to your seat at times captivated by the excitement. All ages will enjoy this lavish and most enlightening tale. I must warn you though, the ruins and spiritual/magical events unleash hours upon hours of fantastic daydreaming....or at least that is the effect it has on me. This one I will certainly enjoy listening to time and again. ~ Bravo Redfield

Now for the sensually spoken all too familiar voice we all know and love, Lou Diamond Phillips. Thank you for the excellent performance!! I hope to hear more of your beautiful narrations.
