"Starts strong but ends weak..."
Fun, time waster
The end needs help. It could have been so much better if... no need to spoil it. It seems like the author didn't know how to finish so he just took the easy way out. Also the beatings with the baseball bat seemed unnecessary and disgusting.
Simon Vance is an excellent reader. He makes the characters enjoyable through his voice.
Bike races, spies in trouble, beautiful and intelligent women- all the makings for an adventure. Oh did I mention Hot, smart biker dude.
Love the beginning. This book could have been so much more...
"Looking for a sappy romance? This dud's for you!"
This book starts with a strong character who protects her land from harm by carrying around a sling. However, as soon as she meets her darling husband she turns into a sappy, hangy, woman who tries to earn his respect by throwing tantrums. Perhaps the difficulty is that this is an audio book. If you were reading a normal book you could skip a page here, or a paragraph there and the plot would move along fine and keep you interested. But wading through every last detail gets tedious.
A bit...
When on the roof protecting her castle, she slings a stone and fells the leader of the approaching army.
No. One was bad enough.
I feel stupider (Is that a word?) for having listened to this book.
