This is one of the first books I read as a new believer 3 decades ago. I had always wanted to reread it, then I stumbled on it here in audio format. This is one of the few books that I recommend every Christian read. Essentially, its is a discourse on the book of Romans, but is done in a very conversational style.
The narrator for this book was well chosen and he is very easy to listen to. He never gets in the way of the text. Highly recommended in book AND audio form.
Once again, another superb Focus on the Family Radio Theatre production. The five stars rating refers to both the amazing story by George MacDonald as well as the audio dramatization. Perfect on all counts.
First of all this is a 5 star BOOK - a classic that belongs on every Christian's bookshelve.
The 1 star rating is for the narrator. I can't even listen to him. His voice and delivery are the
audio book equivalent of figernails on a blackboard. He is TONE DEAF to the subject matter of
book he is reading. His strident, frenetic reading is just plain annoying, to the point that, as I
said, I cannot even listen to it.
...another Focus on the Family radio production. What more can I say, except read my other reviews on Focus on the Family Radio Theatre audio books.
This is a good and listenable reading of the psalms.
But I would recommend either Alexander Scourby, or Max Mclean's
renditions (entire bible is available by both)
Another Stunning audio production from Focus on the Family (Chronicles of Narnia, Odyssey, At the back of the North Wind, etc...)
Focus on the Family Radio does it again...top notch all the way around!
If you like this kind of quality production check out George MacDonald's "At the back of the North Wind" and the Adventures in Odyssey series and C.S. Lewis's "The Screwtape Letters".
