"Great Story Continued"
This book is extreamly detailed both in character content and in the sciences. I feel like I read a textbook with a story attached. I certainly know more about Mars, Climatology, Biology, Geology, and others...and I enjoyed learning about it.
"Left Me wanting"
I have recently complained about sequels and why do all writers feel the need to have continue a story over 10 books. Well, I got my wish in this book by B. V. Larson…sort of. What I got was a story that ended like it a sequel was coming. The story ended so abruptly, I had to check my player to be sure it did not skip something. On top of this, the reading of this is lacking in fluidity and was choppy. The story is pretty good, albeit very short. This should be classified as a short story or needs a sequel written. It did left me unsatisfied and wanting more of the tale. I wanted more depth, more development, and just more story. What happens next? Who are/were these people? I would not buy this unless you like cliff hangers without any promise of what is at the bottom.
Develop the characters and the universe to get some depth.
Choppy delivery
Nope
"Very Good Indeed"
Excellent continuation of the story. Some inconsistancies and repeated behavior by the characters. One would think that trusting instincts would grow on a person instead of having the same respons as in the first book.
"Cant get past the Voice"
Yes, of course...but not narrated by Tom Wierner. Also, the format was weird.
B.V. Larson
No
None, could not get through the first 5 min.
None
"Incomplete"
Hard to review without giving away the plot, but there are too many loose ends. Obviously a sequel coming unless that weird ending was just that.
Can't we have a book beginning to end instead of the constant formula of sequels? It was going so well...weird twists that are not logical.
No, but the performce was good.
Yes
"Dark Humor at its Best"
Beginning to end, I love this series. I cannot wait for the next book
This is humorous but full of real emotion.
Great voice of "Talbot"
It is, but I savor it to and from work. I resist the urge to lock myself under my headphones until it is complete.
Best Zombie series I know. Not the same old "virus gets loose because of an experiment gone bad and everyone dies by being stupid" books.
"Just Generally Boring"
I get the interview concept of telling a story but where is the suspense, the build up, the climax? Story was just flat.
"Great story. Poor narration"
How does a great book and fantastic writer get a poor rating? Hire an inexperienced narrator. The inflections in Natalie Ross's voice while telling this great story make it difficult to concentrate on anything except the cadence…like she is short of breath. I am going back to hardcover on this one.
Sorry Mr. Koontz. I love your body of work. I have been listening to and have been reading your books for years. I have never had a bad experience until now.
"Narration Lacking"
Narrator's voice is grating like nails on a chalkboard and the story is disjointed.
"Great Until the End"
Excellent, but ends abruptly.
