I'm trying very hard to keep listening to this fascinating look inside the Obama admin, but I just can't used to the author's narration. A fabulous reporter and author, but just not someone you want reading an entire book.

O'Reilly's shotgun delivery takes some geting used to. Could have been twice as long and still not done justice to the various characters.

Rosenfelt has a pretty good story to tell based on cover-ups, lying government agents, and Vietnam special forces! But, if you're going to get this big with the characters, you should spend more time on the impacts to the story. The "unabridged" story reads more like an "abridged" novel as the wide array of characters and bad guys get short stroked in the end. But, an enjoyable read despite its overabundence of turn-of-phrase and satiracle style quips. Grover Gardner is a perfect match for the type of humor Rosenfelt weaves.

I've only had 1 Astronomy course in my lifetime, but even a modest knowledge of science and astronomy in general will leave you bored with the basic subject matter. I kept fast forwarding through the chapter to come up with something to actually learn. However, if you have no clue as to why the sky is blue, or think that eggs stand up only on the equinox - this book is for you.

I love Grisham, but I wasn't as fond of his latest creation. The tort law and the rookie lawyer storyline feels worn out. And I also kept waiting and waiting for something to happen in the courtroom during the story's main trial, but was disappointed with too little too late.

Yes, yes, the narrator has a lisp, and who knows why he was chosen, but it's not distracting and the details and storytelling are top notch. If you've ever wanted to be aboard a WWII sub from training days to the heart of battle, this is a great book. High recommended.

Some decent Grisham characters, but comes too short on the details the story really needed to be great.

Woodward gives his usual thorough, almost too much so, narrative of the current Afgan war, and the many problems there after the country was left to languish as Bush turned his sights on Iraq. The only minor complaints are that the long and almost repetitive narratives become background noise after awhile. Plus, the subject matter is quite narrow in scope. I wanted to hear more about the other trials and problems in the White House ongoing at the same time. There are also clear moments in the audio where the narrator was either starting a new day of reading, or had to "punch in" some audio changes after the fact. A bit shoddy for this stature of book.

Overall, a good book, but only the introduction is read by McNamara. I was hoping to hear the story in the author's own voice. A good feel for just how screwed up things were in early Vietnam.

I loved his book "Against all Enemies" which he read himself, but "Your Government Failed You" has been difficult to listen to. In fact, I'm only about an hour into it, and it's taken several return attempts to get this far. He reads way to slow and in a very somber tone. This gets on your nerves pretty quickly, though the information in the first chapter seems to be good. Hope I can make it through the rest of the book!
