Would you listen to The Marriage Bargain again? Why?

Probably not. Even enjoying the book a lot it's not the kind of story that I would like to listening again, the end is very predictable.

What did you like best about this story?

The romance between the characters, even being an arranged marriage they felt in love and they were very jealous of each other, that made the story a fun quick read with a lot of gorgeous passages.

Have you listened to any of Coleen Marlo’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No I haven't, but I will look for more books of this author. I just loved the way it was written, very romantic and with lots of sweet love scenes

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

I don't think it would give a nice movie, it had too be more deep...profound.I"m not sure of the right word to use, perhaps the story was too light. Good just to read.

    Any additional comments?

I couldn't put down the book, you just want to go on and on to see what will happen in the next chapter. A very nice book the kind of romance that I love to listen.

LOVE NOVELS WHERE CHARACTERS WERE ALREADY OLD FRIENDS. THE STORY IS MUCH MORE LIVELY WITH MANY FUN PARTS AND THE HERO IS ALWAYS TRYING TO PROTECT HIS BELOVED.
    A LOT OF FUN!!
I DISLIKE MALE VOICE OF THE NARRATOR...VERY UNPLEASANT,I PREFER MALE NARRATORS.

Once upon a time...as a fair maiden lay weeping upon a cold tombstone, her heartfelt desire was suddenly made real before her: Tall, broad of shoulder, attired in gleaming silver and gold, her knight in shining armor had come to rescue his damsel in distress.... Hailed worldwide as one of the most romantic novels of all time, Jude Deveraux's dazzling best seller "will capture your heart - and hold it" (Daily Herald, Chicago) with its breathtaking tale.

A very nice story, many romantic scenes well balanced between romance and sensuality. If you (like me) have read the book I'm sure you will love listening to it. A jude Deveraux can't be bad, she just knows how to capture hers listeners and a time-travel romance is always entertaining.
The only negative point was the narrator, his voice is perfect for a male character but terrible for the female. I can't understand why audio-books don't have a man reading the male characters and a woman for the female, it would be much more pleasant for the listeners.
    Worth a credit!

    Story

Couldn't be more predictable! The story was good but it turned so typical and boring...all of a sudden the heroine turns from a shrew into an angel, then she gets confused about her feelings about Tayg "the bard". She can't decide if she was in love with him because he is a bard or because he( in truth) is the leader of his clan....SO UNBELIEVABLE!!

In short I wasn't particulary impressed, the story couldn't keep my attention, so boring I had to fast foward many times.

I bought this book after reading the reviews, so I decided to give my point of view to help people who have the same taste as mine.

A betrothal has been announced that will join together Britain's two most powerful families - a union of wealth and influence to rival even the King himself. However, not only does the ambitious King John oppose this wedding, but Milisant and Wulfric - the intended bride and groom - are equally unhappy with the arrangement. Two passionate, headstrong people, they resent being thrown together for purely dynastic reasons.

I actually really liked this book. If you are a medieval/romance lover you certanly will like this one, it is exactly what you would expect, predictable and kind of enjoyable. I loved that Wulfric and Milisant hated each other since childhood and the way they constantly irritated one another to all of a sudden "realize" they love each other.

It's funny how Milisant desperately serches for a way out of the marriage and how the murder plot makes for a way to bring them together.

If somewhat typical, this book is pretty good.

Yet that turns out to be unexpectedly difficult, with his all-too-disturbing presence disrupting her days...and memories of his passion-dark eyes troubling her nights.

What would have made My Wicked Earl better?

It was a disappointment, Charles wants the whereabouts of anti-govemment "Captain Spindeshanks", his men arrest Hollie Finch who in truth is the captain but she's not telling him, instead she makes him believe she is the captain's wife.He puts her under house arrest and that is the worst part of the story. She acts as they were olds friends and she tries to fix his life as a wife should....She was supossed to be the enemy right? I just didn't get it!!

Would you ever listen to anything by Linda Needham again?

I can't say I wouldn't, some times we like a writer but not all of her works. Perhaps she has other books better than this one.

Which character – as performed by Barbara Rosenblat – was your favorite?

Hard to say, I disliked all of them.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from My Wicked Earl?

I would cut the whole book, I'm sorry to say this but the book was very childish.

    Any additional comments?

A total disaster!! It could have been more!!!

Sweet and pure! This is the right book to listen after a hard day , so romantic and peaceful that you could listen all night long. The narrator only makes it more enjoyable, just the perfect voice for the storie. If you are looking for something to relax your mind it is the one.
Ryan is just that kind of man that every woman wants for a husband, he moves earth and heaven to make Bethania's life wonderful, even having such a major physical disability.

A good romance captures you from the first lines. This one was a little bit slow, nothing happened, the dialogues were dired and silly at many occasions. The story was ok, it had all the ingredients to be a wonderful romance, an unfaithful bride and a cynical and bitter hero but the author was not capable of setting fire between the two of them. Not bad at all but could be more captivating.

In the days when Scotland lay under siege - from the Vikings who sailed from the north and the Norman English who came from the south - King David sought to unite his people into one nation. For this, he needed loyal warriors. Waryk de Graham soon proved the greatest of these fighters, and was knighted Lord Lion. But his honored position came with a price: a wife chosen for him by the king - a reluctant Viking bride.
