I don't know who the narrator was, but I really thought it was Sammy when you get into it. Sometimes, Sammy comes across as a child in what he did, even as an adult. But compared to what I know of Van Halen, he's a freakin' genius.
The stories and history are fantastic.
Maybe a bit too much "patting himself on the back", but what can one expect from someone who is going to be a front-man in rock and roll, plus someone that successful.
Well worth it!
There are a doen authors who can catpure your attention far more effective than Hunter.
The storyline has potential, but seems very contrived and unnatrual. Character development lacks setup and its like watching a quicky TV show than a real novel.
The story is superficial at best, I'm afraid.
The reader just doesn't have that interesting voice to capture my attention.
This was a recommended read, but I say stick with the real writers.
Heart wrenching, heroic, grueling . . .and its true.
I don't know Marcus, but I know someone who does, and they say he's a true hero.
He's strong in every way.
This story has so much information in it - Patrick Robinson really helped fill out this story into something that paints the full picture.
Unbelievable. You can't write fiction that can create this scenario.
Unbelievable, yet true.
It got a little "conservative" and "overly patriotic" at times. One step beyond what I think what middle America is about. But regardless, he shares his true feelings and deserves a pat on the back (and more) for it.
Definitely get this one!
I read this book out of sequence - the last - because I didn't have it.
And it stands on its own.
Imaginative but based on real science. It takes it beyond into science fiction,
but the planetary and physical science of "what if" is what you see on Discovery and Science channels every day.
OK - the story is fascinating. How easy it actually was.
Social Engineering - I've done it a lot, but not anywhere near this guy's level!
My problem is that he still thinks he's innocent.
He really is disconnected from reality in that sense.
What he did was wrong. Just flat out wrong.
He needed therapy! Whacko!
However, it is interesting to note that there wasn't mis-use of information, and that it
an understood truth. But really, man?
Law or not, the moral and ethical "sense" just wasn't there for this guy.
I think that alone makes this an interesting book.
History, insight, mixed with a typical maniac who couldn't control himself,
was a bit out of touch with reality.
This guy was one step away from serial killer, except he directed it into hacking.
I like the story a LOT!
It was a pleasure to listen to and to hear about.
I think all aspects of this book are commendable.
I had no idea this guy had experienced so many of those critical missions.
This is THE dude to get the story from!
I was about to fall asleep in the completely unnecessary details in between actual story. The core story isn't so bad. But it just falls together in some convenient way. How the detective just magically is able to speak with these people.
It is just barely worth listening to, but get the abridged version.
The narrator isn't too boring, but it is hard to tell between the characters at times.
Can this be true? Its ridiculous that a human condition and psyche can be created like this.
Its a fascinating story and worth listening to.
The reader was a bit monotonous and there were clear audio edits all the time with different quality and mics.
I could have used a little more excitement from the narrator's voice.
I think the history was incredible.
For those of who dig this - fantastic.
So I'll put my recommendation strong towards those of us who like this.
I'm not a conspiracy guy, but do find these overbearing attempts at hiding stuff fascinating.
The insight is great.
There were pieces within here that are priceless. But it drones on, and the changing in narrators was strange. There was "too much" of the author's likeness in the narration.
The droning wore me down. I had to break for a week and come back for 4 or 5 hours, then break away again.
Some of the stories are magical - fantastic to listen to.
I wish the production and narration, plus the length, were more appropriate.
