The story in itself was very enjoyable. I did find the special effects not necessary.
The fresh ideas and concepts of a fantasy story.. It reminds me of C.S. Lewis' story of Narnia and the parable that it can be used for. I always enjoy gleaming jewels from novels that have pearls of wisdom tucked away in the story.
Robert Jordan did such a great job in knitting his characters into the story, for this one, it would be hard to select just one. With Michael Kramer's performance, the stories characters were totally believable.
Michael Kramer has become one of my favorite performers. His portal of the different characters and usage of different dialect for the character's voices was very much appreciated. For me, it doesn't matter how good the story is, if the narration is poor, I can't finish the book.
I have listened to all of Diana Outlanders series. As I am waiting on her new book, often will relisten to any of her books again.
The men's spring bath in the lakes. Being from North Carolina, I know how cold our waters are. Slap take your breath out of your lungs when you jump in . The fact of Clair being present without discomfort and allowed to just enjoy being in the moment of the gents fun. As with her writing, you feel like you are there.
This is a hard one! Davina Porter is the most talented perfomer ever!!! I have never heard anyone who can compare to her talent. She not only does male/female roles, but nails the dialects, of British, Scottish, Irish and tries very hard on a Boston accent. She even presents the characters manner of speech..they are all good. I have heard Diana's narrators for Lord Gray and Jamie performed by male narrators and in all honesty, they do not hold a candle to the performance of Davina and would have enjoyed her Lord John's series had she used Davina and on the Scottish Prisioner...so much more. For me, if the book does not have a good narrator, I will not listen to the book. I am very appreciative of the ability to read reviewers comments about narration on books they have read.
Oh it would be Jamie!!! Well, if you ever read the first book, you wouldn't have to ask. What a man!
A great book of fantasy, time travel and history of the British and US. Diana has done a great job and you can tell she spends so much time on research for her books.
Narration was great. Story helped you develop a great hold of the characters in the story
Kodak, Stew and Tom Collins returning to Bolder
There are a couple places that made your skin crawl. I did not develop an emotional attachment to the characters.
I was unable to figure out the purpose of some of the deaths that occurred. Left me feeling the book was unfinished in this section.
