I liked this book because it dispelled much of the prevalent notions of dominant and submissive behaviors that encompass dog training. I think anyone that really works with and lives with dogs feels that the whole notion of your dog vying to dominate you at all times is faulty. That philosophy puts man and dog in a continuous state of conflict. Although I enjoyed the latest scientific information on dogs I think this book may be a little to academic for the casual listener. That's why I give it 4 stars.
If they like this genre, I would definitely recommend this book. It kept me interested throughout. The author created an interesting sub rosa world.
I liked the structure of the world the main character inhabited, the jobs she did, her co-workers and mystery the pulled the story forward.
I liked the reader overall but she doesn't do male voices well.
No because the ending is weak.
The first 3/4s of this book were very compelling and the mystery moved the book along very well.
No. But I liked his performance very much. He made each character very unique.
It would depend on the friend. But I think most people would enjoy this book. The writer creates a vivid would with an interesting dystopian future where the 1 to 2 % of the population that survives aren't that great. I don't want to spoil the book but it does end with some hope and there is plenty of action.
I liked how he made all the characters very real. His voice conveyed the desolation of the ruined world very well.
I have been mildly disappointed in the last couple Dave R books. This one is back on track.
I don't know if it's the narrator or the story but I am having a hard time listening to this book. The first 3 books were terrific and I couldn't wait to listen every day as I walked. I have had a hard time getting into this book and have started listening to something else. I want to finish this book because I love the series but I may try reading it instead.
I bought this book because I love dogs. The story was good and the narration good. It's a fast listen and if I could give it 3 and 1/2 stars I would.
Although I love the concept of this story, I found myself unable to get into the story and when part one finished I didn't bother to start part two. I may try again at another point because readers I respect have said it is worth the trouble.
