A series of horrifying events occur in quick succession in the same upscale L.A. neighborhood. A backyard renovation unearths an infant's body, buried 60 years ago. And soon thereafter in a nearby park, another disturbingly bizarre discovery is made not far from the body of a young woman shot in the head. Helping LAPD homicide detective Milo Sturgis to link these eerie incidents is brilliant psychologist Alex Delaware. But even the good doctor's vast experience with matters both clinical and criminal might not be enough.

Another great read by Jonathan Kellerman. Love John Rubinstein performance - does Milo Sturgis and Alex Deleware so great! Good plot - always keeps you guessing till the end. Good cast of characters with a few story lines going on. Very much enjoyed Guilt. In fact I could not stop listening - kept me up till the wee hours of the morning so...warning...make sure you have plenty of time to listen or have the will power to hit "pause". Highly recommend Guilt. If you have not read a Kellerman novel before, this is a good one to start with - gives you enough background on the two main characters so you don't feel you have missed out. Not sorry at all I pre-ordered this book. And, unlike some popular authors, Kellerman still delivers a long (time wise) novel even though his books are wildly popular. (Some authors give you only 6-7 hours per book.) Again, a great addictive read.

Detective Alex Cross is a family man at heart--nothing matters more to him than his children, his grandmother, and his wife Bree. His love of his family is his anchor, and gives him the strength to confront evil in his work. One man knows this deeply, and uses Alex's strength as a weapon against him in the most unsettling and unexpected novel of James Patterson's career.

Probably one of the best Alex Cross Novels in a long time. This one took me completely by surprise. It takes Alex Cross to the darkest place in his life but no spoilers here - you'll have to read it to find out. Enjoyed more details about the kids and moved along at a nice pace - keeps you guessing to a point. If you haven't read any books in the Alex Cross series I think you can pick this one up without being totally lost though after this one you will want to read all of the others. Very much enjoyed this book and can't wait for the next...you'll see why once you read it :)

Murder cases have the highest stakes and the biggest paydays, and they always mean Haller has to be at the top of his game. When Mickey learns that the victim was his own former client, a prostitute he thought he had rescued and put on the straight and narrow path, he knows he is on the hook for this one. He soon finds out that she was back in LA and back in the life.

Michael Connelly rarely disappoints me with his novels and this one was another great read. A must buy for Connelly fans, of course. If you haven't read any of the Lincoln Lawyer Series I suggest you start from the first one. Review: Great read. Does not disappoint. Peter Giles is a great narrator and M.C. is a great writer - what else can I say?

Justin and Libby Denbe have the kind of life you’d find in the pages of a glossy magazine: A beautiful 14-year-old daughter. A gorgeous brownstone on a tree-lined street in Boston’s Back Bay neighborhood. A great marriage, admired by all. A perfect life. When investigator Tessa Leone arrives at the crime scene in the foyer of the Denbes’ home, she finds scuff marks on the floor and a million tiny pieces of bright green Taser confetti. The family appears to have been abducted.

This was one of Lisa Gardner's best novels and I like the way she brought back a previous character - gave it a good twist. Love her type of story telling - narration. She always keeps you guessing. Great, great read. Lisa Gardner fans must buy and if you are just starting - this is a good read, but you may want to start a few back so you are more familiar with some of the characters. ALL of Lisa Gardner books are worth a credit. This is another one I could not put down so make sure you have lots of time to read it or can push the pause or stop button. Unfortunately it kept me up till the wee hours of the morning twice! Great performance, story, characters - every detail is fantastic. Highly recommend this book. Glad I pre-ordered it. Spend your credit, you won't be sorry.

The 24-hour news cycle is abuzz when the police arrest homeless Iraq war veteran Mike Stoller for the murder of a young paralegal on her way home from night-school class. Stoller doesn't deny killing the woman, but his post-traumatic stress disorder is so bad that he has no real memory of that night. Jason Kolarich agrees to take the case only weeks before trial, and realizes that, unlikely as it seems, his client is probably innocent. The murdered paralegal had been tracing a money trail leading to terrorists.

This was the 2nd David Ellis book I purchased never having read the author before. David Ellis writes similar to John Grisham with a Jonathan Kellerman or James Patterson thriller/mystery edge. Jason Kolarich digs deep to solve his cases. Love the sarcasm and attitude of main character - Jason. Was extremely pleased with this book. Highly recommend this author. I don't think you need to read the books in order, but you may want to since this is the best one. Great performance by Luke Daniels - compared to others - he really becomes Jason in this book - really developed the character. I'm reading "Hidden Man" right now and it is just as good except the narrator hasn't quite come into character - but still a good mystery/thriller/lawyer jargon book. You won't be sorry if you become a David Ellis fan!

After a slow summer of chasing low-level skips for her cousin Vinnie's bail bonds agency, Stephanie Plum finally lands an assignment that could put her checkbook back in the black. Geoffrey Cubbin, facing trial for embezzling millions from Trenton's premier assisted-living facility, has mysteriously vanished from the hospital after an emergency appendectomy. Now it's on Stephanie to track down the con man. Unfortunately, Cubbin has disappeared without a trace, a witness, or his money-hungry wife. Rumors are stirring that he must have had help with the daring escape...or that maybe he never made it out of his room alive.

If you have been reading the numbered series by Evanovich then, of course, you will purchase this one as I did. I liked the book and love the narrator, but the storyline is predictable and the book is less than 7 hours. Her first ones were a lot better. If you have not read the numbered series DO NOT start with this one - go to the beginning. Not much action in this one. The usual laughs and mishaps so I'd have to say it was good - just disappointed that they seem to be getting shorter and less interesting. I felt as though this one was pumped out to meet a deadline, but that Evanovich's heart wasn't in it. Spend the credit or wait till it goes on sale if you can.

LAPD cop Scott James is not doing so well, not since a shocking nighttime assault by unidentified men killed his partner, Stephanie, nearly killed him, and left him enraged, ashamed, and ready to explode. He is unfit for duty - until he meets his new partner. Maggie is not doing so well, either. The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. They are each other’s last chance.

This is a great read for dog lovers and well worth the credit even if you are not. Crais is an excellent writer and the narration was great. Good storyline and an overall great read. I probably liked it more than the average reader because one of the characters is a dog, but it's a great story even if you are not a "dog person". What else can I say? You won't be sorry you purchased this book and if you have never read Robert Crais - purchase anything by him and you will be hooked.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

I would not have purchased this book had it not been for another reviewer stating that they were glad they read reviews and not just the publisher's description. Had it not been for that review I would have passed this great book up and possibly another author to watch. I think the book was great and Ray Porter, the narrator did an excellent job. The premise is unique and the characters are likable. I could not stop listening - it sucked me in within the first 30 minutes. The only thing I didn't really like was near the end - got a little too 'supernatural' for me, but overall it was a small and mild dislike compared to the rest of the novel. The story builds up and is mysterious and has you constantly guessing. Buy this book - you won't regret the purchase.

This was the first book I purchased by this author - story sounded good and love Scott Brick narrating anything. Was extremely pleased with entire performance from story to twists and turns - plot, characters, etc. I read a lot of mystery/thriller books by well known authors. I don't know if Hurwitz is well known, but his books are fantastic. I purchased "They're Watching" as soon as I finished this one. I did think this one was better, but was not disappointed by the other at all. I am looking to purchase more of his books right now. If you haven't read this author, you will be pleased you bought this book.

Patrick Davis is a man with troubles. First his Hollywood dreams crumble, then his storybook marriage hits a snag. Finally, DVDs start being delivered to his house – DVDs which show that someone is watching him and his wife, that the two of them are being stalked and recorded by cameras hidden around and within their house. Then the e-mails start, and someone offers to fix everything, to take the mess his life has become and make it all right. Patrick figures it's the offer of a lifetime.

Never read this author before and synopsis sounded pretty good. So, between that and Scott Brick reading I thought I'd take a chance. So good - bought another one right away. Scott Brick can make the worst story good, but this was an excellent book by Gregg Hurwitz. Good plot, action, suspense - no drivel, long drawn-out romantic scenes or bad writing that just doesn't make sense. Excellent read and highly recommend if you like mystery, thriller or if you just want a good book to listen to. Good twists and turns, builds up to "who is really watching". Was extremely pleased. Going now to look at his other ones and purchase some more.
