Deadly Game begins as a mission to protect a politician from an assassination threat. But the operation takes an unexpected turn when Mari, a mysteriously beautiful GhostWalker, is taken hostage. At the same time, Ken Norton, expert assassin and himself a GhostWalker warrior, is on a mission of his own - one that reaches into Mari's own past. No stranger to the ways of violent warfare, Mari must join forces with Ken and trust his every move - each one more intimate than the last.

    "Too much redundent dialogue"
    Overall

I have been a fan of this author for awhile. But, I found that this book bogged down too much with the same repeatitive thoughts of the characters. I won't say the dialogue as I don't want to be a spoilsport. I listened to this while driving on a long trip and after awhile, I was trying to fast forward through to get to the end. Next time if I listen to this author again, I will only obtain the abridged version. The narrator was easy to listen to otherwise.

As a cassandra sangue, or blood prophet, Meg Corbyn can see the future when her skin is cut - a gift that feels more like a curse. Meg's Controller keeps her enslaved so he can have full access to her visions. But when she escapes, the only safe place Meg can hide is at the Lakeside Courtyard - a business district operated by the Others. Shape-shifter Simon Wolfgard is reluctant to hire the stranger who inquires about the Human Liaison job.

Would you listen to Written in Red again? Why?

I have already listened to this book numerous times. I found the characters very interesting. I found the author equal to Anne McCaffery as a creator of an alternate world.

Which character – as performed by Alexandra Harris – was your favorite?

I liked Meg's innocence. I liked Simon for his ability to learn and develop. I liked Tess for her endurance with creatures unlike herself. I liked jester for his comic relief, and Jake for the same reason. Mr. Eurobus was informative and likable.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes

    Any additional comments?

I travel long distances. This story helped me cover many miles. I wish the next book was coming earlier than march.

In a crowded courtroom in Mississippi, a jury returns a shocking verdict against a chemical company accused of dumping toxic waste into a small town's water supply, causing the worst "cancer cluster" in history. The company appeals to the Mississippi Supreme Court, whose nine justices will one day either approve the verdict or reverse it.

    "Cynical ending"
    Overall

I slogged through this book only to be very disappointed at the end. I kept hoping that the author would lead me to an ending that would show redemption of the main antagonists. It didn't. If you, like myself are looking for a book that lets the good guy win, this is not the book for you; as I found that it wasn't for me.
