Beth Hoffman’s bestselling debut, Saving CeeCee Honeycutt, won admirers and acclaim with its heartwarming story and cast of unforgettable characters. Now her unique flair for evocative settings and richly drawn Southern personalities shines in her compelling new novel, Looking for Me.

Beautiful story enhanced by the brilliant Jenna Lamia's narration. Couldn't stop listening...didn't want it to end. If there were more stars I would give them to this book!

Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she's a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she's a disgrace; to design mavens, she's a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom.

Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette's intensifying allergy to Seattle - and people in general - has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands.

S says: "One of my top 10 listens of the year!"
    "The Best!"

The best Audible book I have heard, by far! If there were more stars for performance I would add them! Excellent!

Abilene Tucker feels abandoned. Her father has put her on a train, sending her off to live with an old friend for the summer while he works a railroad job. Armed only with a few possessions and her list of universals, Abilene jumps off the train in Manifest, Kansas, aiming to learn about the boy her father once was. Having heard stories about Manifest, Abilene is disappointed to find that it's just a dried-up, worn-out old town. But her disappointment quickly turns to excitement when she discovers a hidden cigar box full of mementos.

Beside the fact that Jenna Lamia is my very favorite narrator, this was a wonderful listen. The switching back and forth between time periods, took a little getting used to, but it was worth it for the richness of the story.

A mystery, a love story and historical interest all together. Kept me guessing until the end.
