Although the presence of ghosts in Midnight Bayou should cause some stress, the characters seem to treat them like cobwebs or old furniture in Manae Hall. Once you get past this oddity, the story is highly entertaining and as addictive as most Nora Roberts books. The problem I have with this one is the reader. He definitely sounds just like the automated voice on my Kindle. I'm surprised that he was selected from the vast number of audiobook readers who have emerged over the last few years. - I would recommend this story but also encourage people to buy the book and read it rather than listen to it with this reader.
